FYI. Go check out the NE 110th Bioswale (again) sometime! A lot of people (volunteers, city workers, etc.) put a lot of thought, time, and work into making it a functional attraction to our neighborhood riparian environment. Definitely worth looking in on from season to season!

💚💙🏈🪺 Seattle Parks and Recreation, "This Super Bowl Sunday, let’s take a moment to honor Seattle’s original Seahawk – the Osprey! ... To support these majestic birds and reduce impacts on infrastructure and recreation, Seattle Parks and Recreation has stepped up in a big way. We’ve built nesting platforms atop light poles where Ospreys have previously nested, even replacing their nesting materials."
You can find one of these platforms above the SW light tower over Nathan Hale H.S.'s track & field!

🏈🦅 This Super Bowl Sunday, let’s take a moment to honor Seattle’s original Seahawk – the Osprey!

Known as the vocal and visible “fish-hawk,” Ospreys are a symbol of resilience. These incredible birds thrive near healthy fish populations and build their nests in high perches, often returning to the same spot year after year. In Seattle, that often means nesting on top of light poles at athletic fields!

To support these majestic birds and reduce impacts on infrastructure and recreation, Seattle Parks and Recreation has stepped up in a big way. We’ve built nesting platforms atop light poles where Ospreys have previously nested, even replacing their nesting materials. And guess what? The Ospreys keep coming back! 💚💙

So, as we cheer on the Seahawks today, let’s also celebrate the Osprey – a true Seattle icon. 🏆🦅
