Have you ever taken melatonin? You probably know that it's a naturally-produced hormone that rises and falls along with a person's internal biological clock. And for astronauts, it's essential for helping maintain sleep schedules.

WSU researchers have developed a test, which is similar to a COVID rapid test, to track these levels and ensure that astronauts can rest adequately. The research was funded in part by NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration!

In space, traditional day and night don't exist, making it hard for astronauts to be in tune with their natural sleep cycle.
