What an incredible day at TiE Seattle and TYE Globals 2026!

We are thrilled to share that both TiE Seattle teams have advanced to the TYE Globals 2026 Finals, competing against some of the most talented young entrepreneurs from around the world.

TiE Seattle proudly welcomed 18 teams participants from TiE chapters around the world as we officially kicked off TYE Globals 2026 with an exciting opening evening at Gone.com!

This year, 35 outstanding student teams have traveled from across the globe to compete, collaborate, and celebrate entrepreneurship. Teams are representing chapters from Singapore, Silicon Valley, Boston, Raleigh Durham, Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle, Houston, Oregon, Vancouver, San Diego, Tampa Bay, DC, and Dana Point.

The energy, enthusiasm, and entrepreneurial spirit in the room were incredible. Over the next few days, these young innovators will showcase their ideas, learn from mentors, connect with peers, and compete on a global stage.

At the same time, TiE Kerala is co-hosting a parallel TYE competition featuring teams from across India. It is inspiring to see young entrepreneurs from around the world participating in the TYE ecosystem and building solutions for the future.

The top teams from both competitions will come together to compete in the TYE Global Finals on Saturday, June 13, 2026, where the world’s best young entrepreneurs will take the stage.

Congratulations to the Winners of the TiE U Seattle Chapter Pitch Competition.

TiE U Seattle, in partnership with the Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Washington Foster School of Business, hosted the TiE U Seattle Finals with the team selected from the highly competitive Dempsey Startup Competition.

A special thank you to Suresh Kotha, Amy Sallin, and Shirish Nadkarni for helping identify and select promising student ventures from a highly competitive pool and bringing them into the TiE U Seattle ecosystem for further evaluation and mentorship.

On June 5, seven outstanding teams competed in the semifinals, presenting innovative solutions and demonstrating exceptional entrepreneurial potential. After a rigorous first round, three teams advanced to the final round.

Last week, the TiE Seattle Women community gathered for our third salon: *Founded & Funded*.

Rather than panels and presentations, we followed the lifecycle of a company—from the first spark of an idea, to launching a product, to earning customer trust, to raising capital, to understanding how investors evaluate opportunities.

A few themes emerged throughout the evening:
* There is no single founder profile. Great companies are started by people who see a problem they can't stop thinking about.
* Building is hard. Fundraising is hard. Both are learnable skills.
* Confidence is often overrated. Many founders experience self-doubt. The difference is that they move forward anyway.
* Investors are not looking for perfection. They are looking for clarity, conviction, and evidence that founders can learn and adapt.
* Most importantly: women need to put themselves in the arena. Start the company. Launch the product. Make the pitch. Ask for the meeting. Raise the round.

The path to entrepreneurship is rarely linear, but hearing the honest stories behind successful companies reminds us that every founder starts in exactly the same place: with an idea and the courage to act on it.
