Tomorrow night, we’re heading to a rooftop in Greenwood for sunset, skyline views, and performances from two artists who know how to make time slow down.

Tiny Vipers creates songs that feel like they’re drifting in on the evening air, intimate, hypnotic, and impossible to rush.

glass egg creates hazy dream-pop full of warmth, texture, and the kind of summer-night emotion that lingers long after the song ends.

There’s something special about hearing music like this outdoors on a summer evening, surrounded by a community of people who genuinely love supporting Seattle music.

The music industry changed. Support for artists had to change too.

In this new SPIN feature, we explore how a community of music lovers, donors, and partners is helping independent musicians build sustainable careers through artist grants, producer funding, and tour support.

For more than a decade, Sonic Guild members have gathered at intimate showcases, discovered emerging artists, and helped direct funding to the musicians they believe in, investing millions of dollars into local music communities along the way.

It’s a simple idea: if we want great music tomorrow, we have to invest in it today.

Applications for the George Reiff Producers Grant close tonight.

We’re looking for producers in Seattle and Austin who are helping artists turn unfinished ideas into finished records, often behind the scenes and without much recognition.

This year, eight producers will receive $7,500 grants:
• Four Seattle producers
• Four Austin producers

Seattle sunsets hit different from a rooftop.

Next Thursday, we’ll be heading to a rooftop in Greenwood for a sunset showcase with Tiny Vipers and glass egg.

As the sun sets over the Seattle skyline, we’ll spend the evening listening to two artists whose music invites you to slow down, pay attention, and be fully present.

These showcases are a reminder that some of the most meaningful music experiences happen outside of traditional venues. They happen when artists and listeners have the chance to share space, connect with one another, and experience music together in a setting that feels personal.

The George Reiff Producers Grant exists to support the producers doing this work every day, often behind the scenes and often without enough recognition, while collaborating with artists who might not otherwise be able to afford professional production.

Join us June 18 for a special rooftop showcase featuring Tiny Vipers and glass egg.

One of the things we love most about Sonic Guild is getting to create experiences that simply wouldn’t exist otherwise. Not just great shows, but opportunities to gather in unexpected places with artists we believe in and a community that genuinely cares about music.

For this one, we’re heading to a rooftop in Greenwood for an intimate evening with two remarkable artists.

Tiny Vipers has spent nearly two decades building a devoted following with songs that feel timeless, haunting, and deeply transportive. Anchored by intricate fingerpicked guitar and an unmistakable voice, Jesy Fortino’s music carries the quiet intensity of an artist entirely committed to her own path.

glass egg, the project of Seattle songwriter and producer Emilia Glaser, blends dream pop textures with a distinctly Pacific Northwest sensibility. Their songs are immersive and cinematic, creating the feeling of stepping into another world for a little while.

Behind so many great records is someone helping artists turn unfinished ideas into something real.

The George Reiff Producers Grant exists to support the producers doing that work every day, often quietly, often without enough recognition, and often alongside artists who otherwise couldn’t afford professional production.

Last year’s recipients helped create records, build confidence, open doors, and move careers forward. These are just a few words from producers and artists who received support through the program.

Last night’s showcase at The Rabbit Box was a powerful reminder of what makes Seattle’s music community so special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an unforgettable evening with M.O.S.S and Anthers, two bands operating in completely different sonic worlds, yet both capable of holding a room in total attention.

M.O.S.S brought a hypnotic, slow-burning set that steadily pulled the audience closer, while Anthers delivered the kind of performance that felt almost physically overwhelming in the best possible way. In a first for Rabbit Box, the band literally cut the power on stage during their set. Somehow it only added to the energy in the room and became one of those moments you know people will still be talking about months from now.

These are the kinds of experiences that sit at the heart of Sonic Guild: intimate rooms, boundary-pushing local artists, and a community willing to show up for live music in a meaningful way before the rest of the world catches on.

Huge thanks to The Rabbit Box Theatre for hosting us in one of Seattle’s most unique listening rooms, and to everyone who continues to support local music alongside us.

Seattle’s M.O.S.S. doesn’t move in a straight line. Their songs stretch and drift, pulling shoegaze haze, sludgy indie rock, and flashes of alt-country into something that feels both loose and deeply intentional. The kind of band that slowly takes over a room without forcing it.
