What if we talked about birth preparation beyond the birth plan? 🌿

Join BLKBRY for Aligning for Birth, a virtual childbirth education workshop designed to explore how chiropractic care can support the body throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery.

Too often, conversations about maternal health focus only on the moment of birth. But how we support the body before and after matters, too.

Led by Dr. Jeen Rooks, this session will provide education on:
✨ Prenatal body alignment and comfort
✨ Pelvic mobility and nervous system support
✨ Postpartum recovery and healing
✨ Holistic approaches to maternal wellness

Because informed choices create empowered experiences.

Black women are often told we're strong enough to carry it all.

But the truth is: the constant stress of navigating racism, bias, and inequitable systems has real impacts on our bodies, our pregnancies, and our overall health.

This phenomenon, known as weathering, helps explain why Black birthing persons continue to experience disproportionately poor maternal health outcomes—even when factors like education and income are accounted for.

Join us and for "Black Can Crack: The Weathering Effect of Racial Bias on Birthing Persons" as we explore how racial stress impacts maternal health and what it looks like to move toward equity, advocacy, and culturally informed care.

Together, we'll learn, reflect, and imagine a future where Black families don't just survive—but thrive. 🤎🌿

Open to community members, advocates, birth workers, and anyone committed to maternal health equity.

Knowledge is power—especially when it's the kind that doesn't always make it into mainstream conversations. 🤎✨

Join BLKBRY for Aligning for Birth, a virtual childbirth education workshop exploring how chiropractic care can support mothers during pregnancy, birth preparation, and the postpartum journey.

Led by Dr. Jeen Rooks (BSK/DOH) [], this conversation will dive into the role of alignment, mobility, comfort, and whole-person wellness throughout the perinatal experience. Because informed decisions start with access to information—and Black families deserve access to every tool that supports healthy, empowered births. 🌿

Whether you're currently pregnant, postpartum, planning for the future, or supporting birthing families, this space is for you.

Global sports moments can bring intensity — joy, disappointment, adrenaline, frustration. But those emotions should never spill into harm toward partners or others.

Intimate partner violence and sexual assault are not "loss-of-control" issues — they are accountability issues. And accountability starts with how we manage emotion in real time.

For men and masculine folks, especially in high-energy environments like sports culture, emotional regulation is a skill that protects everyone around you. Pausing, grounding your body, and stepping away from the moment can shift a reaction before it becomes harm.

We don't put prevention work on women and femmes. We focus on behavior, responsibility, and what safety looks like in practice.

Healthy masculinity is not about suppressing emotion — it's about not weaponizing it.

At the Mothers of Gynecology Conference, BLKBRY had the opportunity to speak with Christy Turlington Burns about maternal health advocacy and the collective responsibility we share in improving outcomes for birthing people.

Conversation like these reinforce the importance of cross-sector collaboration, community engagement, and sustained investment in maternal health equity.

Thank you to the NOVA Reproductive Justice Summit for creating space for meaningful conversations, collaboration, and community care. 🤎

This convening brought together reproductive justice organizations, birth workers, advocates, and changemakers from across the country to discuss policy, build connections, and imagine more expansive futures for reproductive justice work. From inclusive breakout sessions to impactful conversations with elected officials, every moment reinforced the importance of collective action and community-centered leadership.

One of the most affirming parts of the experience was connecting with other Black women and femme Executive Directors to speak honestly about burnout prevention, navigating expectations, and how we can better support one another while continuing this work.

We're leaving this experience feeling supported, inspired, and excited for the reproductive justice and rights hubs that will grow from these conversations. ✨

T***y Tuesday reminder: you are not alone in this. 🤎🍼

If feeding feels confusing, painful, emotional, overwhelming, or nothing like what you expected — you are not the only one sitting in those feelings right now. So many mothers are quietly navigating the same questions:

Am I doing this right?
Is my baby getting enough?
Why does this feel so hard when everyone says it's "natural"?

The truth is, lactation is both biological and emotional. And support — real, consistent, judgment-free support — changes everything. Research shows that when mothers have access to lactation guidance and emotional care, breastfeeding outcomes improve and stress levels decrease. But far too many are still trying to figure it out alone.

So here's your reminder today:

You don't have to carry the confusion by yourself. You don't have to "push through" in silence. You don't have to know everything right now.

Ask questions. Take breaks. Get help. Rest when you can. And if no one has told you lately — you're doing more than enough in a season that asks everything of you. 🤎
