💔 Today, we had a very unexpected and heartbreaking decision to make.

One of our beloved feral sanctuary friends, Toofy, was found struggling to breathe this afternoon. We immediately rushed him to our local veterinarian, hoping there was something we could do to help him.

Unfortunately, Toofy was simply too far gone by the time we arrived. We had to make a heartbreaking decision to let him go peacefully.

This is never an easy decision. We never want to say goodbye to one of our sanctuary residents, but sometimes the greatest act of love we can give them is to prevent further suffering. Given Toofy’s condition and quality of life, we knew this was the right and most compassionate choice for him. 💔🌈

Toofy deserved to leave this world surrounded by love and knowing that he mattered. He was safe. He was cared for. And he was deeply loved.

We are now facing an unexpected veterinary bill, and any donation toward Toofy’s medical expenses would be incredibly appreciated. Every dollar helps us continue providing care and compassion to the cats who depend on us.

TNR APPLICATIONS ARE TEMPORARILY OPEN! 🐾

We’ve made the decision to temporarily reopen our TNR application in an effort to assist as many community cats and colony caretakers as we possibly can before the end of 2026. ❤️

We know there are so many cats still waiting for help, and while our capacity remains limited, we want to do everything within our ability to make a difference.

📋 Our TNR application is now open again!

Please understand that reopening the application does not mean we can accommodate every request immediately. Applications will be reviewed based on our available surgery appointments, resources, and ability to safely assist each colony.

Our goal is simple: help as many cats as we can get spayed/neutered before the end of the year. 🐱✂️

If you have community cats in need of TNR, now is the time to get your information submitted.

Many individuals have expressed varying degrees of interest in understanding how the Feral Feline Society is able to operate effectively, particularly given our recent establishment within the community and the broader animal rescue sector. It is important to note that there is no single explanation or simple solution to our operational success.

One of the biggest reasons we are where we are today is not only our volunteers, donors and supporters but...

RESCUES SUPPORTING RESCUES 🐾

When one rescue succeeds, we all feel it. ❤️
When one rescue struggles, we all feel it. 💔
And when one rescue falls, we all feel that too.

We may each have our own missions, our own communities, our own challenges, and our own ways of helping animals—but at the end of the day, we are all fighting for the same thing: the lives of animals who need us.

Competition has no place in rescue. There are too many animals in need and too few resources for us to tear each other down.

When we share resources, share knowledge, refer appropriately, promote one another, celebrate each other's victories, and stand beside each other during the hard times, we become something far greater than individual organizations.

We become a network.
We become a community.
We become a force. 💪🐾

Standing together, even with individual rescue missions, makes us the most powerful unit there is.

Your success doesn't take anything away from my rescue.
Your success means more animals are being helped.

And when one of us needs a hand, we should be willing to reach out and say:

“We've got you. Let's figure this out together.” ❤️🐾

Because rescue isn't a competition. It's a collective effort.
