Congratulations to Melba Fialko!

Congratulations to Melba Fialko, recipient of the Roseann Smith Alperin Award! 💜

Established by the Junior League of Scranton, the award recognizes an outstanding woman volunteer who leads, motivates, and inspires others and encourages them to make more of themselves and the community they serve.

Join us on November 5 as we celebrate Melba and look ahead to what’s coming in 2027. We’ll also honor Lisa Durkin, the 2026 Margaretta Belin Chamberlin Award recipient, and her impact on women, girls, and families across Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Happy Halloween from the Junior League of Scranton! Wishing you and your family a safe holiday of trick or treating fun!

This week our members volunteered at two different Trunk or Treats and had a blast dressing up and meeting some of our smallest community members and their families! First up John Adams Elementary on Thursday as woodland creatures and then this morning as a school of fish encouraging everyone to "Just Keep Swimming" at the 5Kate Trunk or Treat and race at Nay Aug Park.

Words cannot express how grateful we are for the incredible generosity and support of Smiler's Grill & Bar, & Matthew Jenkins of Wknd Therapy, our business donors, and all of the Junior League of Scranton volunteers and supporters who helped make our Falling into the League Happy Hour a HUGE success! A very special thank you to our co-chairs Antonia and Mary M and their committee Gretchen, Mary L, Quinn, and Sheridan.

Because of your kindness, we received an amazing 31 raffle item donations, helping make the event truly unforgettable.

A very special thank you goes to League member Katie Feeney who generously donated her 50/50 winnings back to the Junior League of Scranton to help further our mission and impact in the community.

Thank you all for your unwavering support, generosity, and belief in what we do. It means more than words can say, and we are forever grateful! ❤️
