Scranton City Pride kicked off on Tuesday, and it was a great way for Scranton Tomorrow to start this event. For the third year in a row, students, teachers, and staff from the Scranton School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing joined with the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners in Lackawanna County to enjoy Christopher A. Doherty Park. Our on street Ambassador team joined in to help and have fun too.
Since late winter, these students have planted and tended to the beautiful flowers at the school, and brought them to the park for all to enjoy. And we were able to spend some extra time playing games and learning some new words in American Sign Language. A heartfelt thanks goes to our friends at Pizza by Pappas for their generosity in supplying lunch.
