It's official! The US Government Patent and Trademark Office has approved and given trademark protection to our name "Savannah Salutes." No other individual or organization can use our name without our authorization and approval. Next up? Protection for our Savannah Salutes logo!

Savannah Salutes exists on the generosity of its volunteers and the individuals and organizations that support it. The board of directors of Savannah Salutes approved the issuance of plaques to honor those individuals and organizations whose monetary or in-kind donations keep the lounge solvent and operating. The first plaque, shown here, was presented by Savannah Salutes board president Harry Gardner to the management of the Savannah - Hilton Head International Airport. The airport authority graciously donates the space for the lounge and a whole host of other necessities. Accepting the award on behalf of the airport director is Lori Lynah, the Savannah - Hilton Head International Airport marketing director who also serves as the board secretary for Savannah Salutes, Inc.

Did you know? The military lounge at the Savannah - Hilton Head International Airport is open 7 days a week, from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. It is totally staffed and administered by volunteers. No one is paid. The physical space is donated by the airport. But there are expenses, most notably water, soft drinks, coffee, and snacks. The lounge is entirely dependent on donations to purchase these items. Now that Savannah Salutes has its tax exempt status approved by the Internal Revenue Service, we can solicit donations and the donors can claim a deduction on their federal income tax. Savannah Salutes is officially an IRS approved tax exempt organization! We are exempt from paying federal income tax, and more importantly, donors can deduct contributions made to us under Internal Revenue Code Section 170. Our federal employer ID is 93-4859235.
