Wahoo Grotto in Galveston / Brazoria Counties, Texas The purpose of Order of Veiled Prophets, or Grotto, to provide an element of play blended with Masonry. We are a Masonic organization meeting in Alvin, TX

The Order of Veiled Prophets, while proclaiming the loyalty of its members to Masonry, makes no pretense of being a Masonic Order, nor does it claim to confer a Masonic degree. Its membership is exclusively Masonic and its purpose is to supply the element of play such a way that work and play will be blended without marring the solid beauty of Masonry. The Grotto is said to be essentially Masonic

in character. The requirements for membership in the Order of Veiled Prophets is that a man must first be a Master Mason in good standing, and that he must continue to maintain his good standing in the Blue Lodge in order to retain his standing in the Order. In no way does the Grotto infringe upon the rights and ceremonies of Masonry or of any other Order. The Grotto leads it votaries through an Enchanted Realm where the spirit of mirth touches the hearts and evolves cheerful companionship, in joy of which they are brought near together in helpful sympathy, which is none the less true because the eye beams with delight and laughter goes with a Prophet’s greeting when hand clasps hand in its mystic fellowship.

Congratulations to the winners of the gun drawing that have already been called and will be able to pick up their rifles on Monday afternoon of the 27th at the Gun Vault in Santa Fe. I would also like to take a moment out to say thank you to ALL the Prophets that assisted in this year's event. Along with this, a special thanks to Stan Casner, Charlie Brinegar, Alan Booth, Jr. Sousley who helped remove everything from the Hitchcock Fair Grounds, then went back and with the assistance of Andrea Brinegar and Mandy Sousley, we drew the tickets while it was filmed. We even enjoyed a great fellowship after the fact!

Good morning, Prophets, I hope that each of your days are off to a good start. May the wind blow softly at your back and if there is rain may it fall gently where you are. Remember starting this Friday the 17th WAHOO Grotto will be working the Galveston County Fair. Some of us will be dressed up and clowning around while a few of us won't, as we tie balloons while interacting with the wee ones and selling raffle tickets. The Fair will run through Saturday the 25th and we hope to see you there! Now, in addition to the above information we need to also mention that the ladies will be manning a booth inside selling handcrafted items and paintings. So if you get the chance, come on out and have some fun and fellowship along the way. WHILE YOU ARE AT IT, DON'T FORGET TO GRAB A RAFFLE TICKET OR TWO!!!

Wahoo Grotto Prophets and Lady participated in the Santa Fe, Tx Harvest Festival on Sat. 11/8 and had a great time. We blew balloons for the kids and promoted the Humanitarian Foundation Special Needs Children program. We issued over 200 toothbrushes w/pamphlets and collected a nice donation for the Foundation. I wish to thank Prophets Stan Casner, Paul Burrows, and Ken Eckel and Lady Jet Booth for their support that day. Also Prophets Cody Coppinger (& Lady Katie) and Frank Steele helped Serenity Lodge at the booth next to us in their promotion of "Wreathes Across America" program. Lots of fun. Monarch Alan Booth

Kumntakit Grotto has graciously allowed Wahoo Grotto to join them on their float at the "Come And Take It" Parade to be held at Gonzales, Tx on October 4th. The parade starts at 10:30 am. There will be limited space available on the float. See the associated map for parade route. We will not know the staging number for the parade until a couple days ahead of the event. Afterwards, everyone is invited to attend the "Fez Off" at the Shiner Brewery in Shiner, Tx that starts at 12 pm. It is a great place to have fellowship with fellow Prophets from numerous Grottoes and our buddy Shriners along with great German food and entertainment. Deputy Grand Monarch Marty Haley is planning to present Most Worshipful Grand Master Raborn Reader with a special Grotto Fez. Please bring your fezzes so we can beat the Shriners in the Fez contest. See you there!! BRING YOUR FAMILIES!!
