7 adoptions this week! And ALL SEVEN were cats! Our dogs are officially wondering what the heck is going on around here. 😹

Let's hear it for this week's lucky seven!
🐱 Thermal, Atheno, Owen, Rango, Tux, Coach, and Lois!

A couple of extra special happy endings this week!

❤️ Thermal found his perfect match! After being returned because he and the family dog weren't seeing eye to eye, he's been adopted into a dog-free home. Just the way he likes it!

❤️ Atheno came to us after his previous owner lost their housing and was living out of their car. After a heartbreaking goodbye, we're so happy this sweet boy has found a new home where he'll continue to be loved and cared for!

🍂 Our Fall in Love adoption special is still going strong! Thanks to our incredibly generous donor, Kevin Kowalkowski, adoption fees are WAIVED for all animals over 6 months old through November 1! Come meet your match (our dogs would appreciate some love, too 😉). Visit spcasc.org to see our adoptable animals!

Thank you to everyone who chooses adoption and supports our small but mighty shelter! Here's to 7 more happy endings! ❤️

Happy Caturday! 🐈‍⬛

This is Thermal. This handsome 4-year-old tuxedo recently found himself back at the Santa Cruz SPCA after being adopted a few months ago. The reason? Well, let's just say he and the family dog had a few disagreements... and Thermal wasn't exactly the innocent party. 😂

Apparently, sharing a home with a dog just isn't his thing. And judging by that face, he has absolutely no regrets.

Now he's back on the market and hoping to find a home that's a better fit, preferably one without a canine roommate.

Come meet Thermal and see if he's your kind of trouble! We're here Tuesday–Sunday, 11–5. ❤️

We have a pretty special birthday girl to celebrate! 🎉

Piper recently turned 8 and celebrated with a “Hoops for Paws” party, choosing to make her big day all about helping animals in need!

Piper and her friends made cozy fringed beds, collected tons of toys and supplies, and raised over $240 for our animals! She recently stopped by with her friends Isla and Scarlett to drop off the donations and also enjoyed a special birthday tour last week!

And what makes this even sweeter? Piper has been celebrating her birthday by giving back to the Santa Cruz SPCA for THREE years now! 🥹🐾

Piper, your love for animals and your thoughtful heart are truly something special! Thank you for making our shelter animals part of your birthday celebrations year after year, and a big thank you to your friends and family for helping make it all happen. We're so grateful for you! ❤️

Swipe to see Piper and her birthday donations over the years. We love seeing how much she's grown!

When you’re THIS cute, narrowing down photos is simply not an option. 😏 Swipe to see Gladys in action!

Meet Gladys! 🎉 This 2-year-old, 42 lb American Bulldog mix is sweet, playful, and full of personality. She’s charmed our admin team, spent time with our PAWS kids, and earned rave reviews from volunteers for her walking skills. She loves meeting kids, getting out and about, and RUNNING. Basically, she’s ready for her next adventure, and maybe you’re just the person to join her!

🐱 We’re still getting to know Gladys, but she seems a little unsure around cats, so a cat-free home may be the best fit for her.

Gladys is still available for adoption while she awaits some medical care! Interested in learning more about this cutie and her care needs? Fill out an Adopter's Profile here: https://spcasc.org/adopters_profile/

💕 Just a reminder: our FALL IN LOVE adoption event is currently running through November 1, with waived adoption fees for animals over 6 months old, thanks to our generous donor, Kevin Kowalkowski!

📸 And a big thank-you to our volunteer photographer Becky Hall for capturing these amazing photos, as always! You make it very hard to pick favorites. 💛

Meet Meowth! This handsome tabby knows what he likes, and he’s not afraid to show it!

This 4-year-old boy enjoys affection on his own terms, being brushed, and a good play session. He’s also lived with kids and a dog, so he’s comfortable sharing his space with them! Living with another cat, however, wasn’t quite his cup of tea. 😂

Meowth is looking for a home where he can settle in, enjoy his favorite things, and be someone’s one and only feline. Could you be his person?

Come meet this handsome fellow at the Santa Cruz SPCA! We’re open Tuesday–Sunday, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
