10 years ago, while at a small school in Nepal, we came up with a simple idea - turning rain into safe water using gravity, ensuring the students would have a safe source of drinking water, every day.

Since then, Gravity Water has seen the power rainwater can have in building water access, equality, and brighter futures. Thanks to you and all the community members who support this work, we've taken this simple idea and have brought it to over 600 communities across the Asia Pacific region, helping over 430,000 children and communities have a safe, reliable source of water from rain.

As we step into 2026, we're excited to reach new milestones, including a goal of reaching 1,000 communities by the end of the year. Though we've just hit our 10 year anniversary, our work is just getting started, and our resolve to bring safe water to every community continues to deepen.

In rural Nepal, access to reliable and safe drinking water at schools continues to be a major challenge. Most of the schools receive water from unprotected springs, which become heavily polluted during the rainy season. This leads to a spike in water-related illnesses throughout the country, ranging from diarrheal disease to cholera.
However, Gravity Water, in partnership with Gravity Water Nepal is changing this reality for tens of thousands of children throughout the country. How? By installing rainwater harvesting and filtration technologies that schools can use to turn the challenge of heavy rains bringing pollution into an opportunity for a new, clean, and free water source for the students on-site. Happy Mother's Day to all the incredible mothers around the world! Jane and our Northwest Regional Director of Vietnam, P**c (a mother herself) are supporting thousands of mothers throughout Vietnam to worry less about their children getting sick at school from polluted water through coordinating school clean water projects throughout the country.

Mothers feed, nurture, and create safety for their families and community. When it comes to water, women and girls are usually responsible for fetching water and bearing the weight of taking care of their children when they fall ill. Water is a critical part of every mother's life, and by increasing access to safe water, we directly benefit mothers and women worldwide 🙏
