Southern Maine Sno-Goers

Southern Maine Sno-Goers We are a non profit volunteer organization who grooms and maintains approximately 28 miles of trails.

The Sno-Goers prepare and maintain just over 28 miles of snowmobile trails, which are made possible through the generosity of our landowners. Please respect our landowners and the privilege to use their land. Located at the Sanford-Springvale Fish & Game Clubhouse on Rt. 4, the Sno-Goers have over 45 family and single memberships and meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month from September to March.

You can join our club by filling out our membership application and dropping it in the mail. If you prefer to meet us in person, stop by one of our monthly meetings and say hello. The Sno-Goers are members of the MSA and in 2003, were voted the #1 club in the State of Maine. We have been one of the top selling clubs in the MSA Super Raffle. Our club activities include local club rides, potluck dinners, fund-raisers and the ever important, Sunday trail work. New activity ideas are always welcome and help is needed to organize them, too.

It comes with sadness that we have to suspend our grooming for the year, unless something drastically changes with the weather. The last 2 snow storms, although small, were just what our trails needed to extend the riding season a couple of more weekls in Southern Maine.

We still have enough snow of the trails but the temperatures for next week are spring like with temps in the 50's, which is way too warm for us to do any grooming.

Thanks to our groomer operators for the great job they did with the trails this year.

Just a little trail update:
All trails have been rolled/packed or groomed either yesterday or today. There is good snow coverage and most trails are in good condition. Warm temps are moving in for the weekend so limited grooming is expected.

02/20/2026

Here is the trail update for now: We now have 3 groomer/drag units up and running and ready to go. With the forecast of 4-8" of snow predicted, we will hopefully be out rolling the trails Saturday or Sunday, depending on the snow amount and the temperatures.

There hasn't been much to report as we have been slowly watching the snow melt with the warm temperatures we have been getting. We are hoping for the higher side of the amounts, which will extend the riding season a few more weeks. I looks like the base is holding up well, other that road crossings or where the sun is shining in abundance.
