Sandwich Arts Alliance, formed in 2015, comprised of four groups that meet monthly: Visual Arts, Literary Arts, Performing Arts, and Friends of the Arts.

The Sandwich Arts Alliance mission is to increase the awareness and enjoyment of the creative arts for all Sandwich residents and visitors through exhibitions, performances, education, and by mentoring our children and adults. We will contribute to the cultural richness of the town by nurturing relationships among local artists and by increasing their sustainability. This mission will bring economic vitality to the town and will make Sandwich a Destination for the Arts. Highlights of our 2016-2017 Program include a Village Concert Series of 3 concerts, a “Fall for the Arts” Festival with an “Arts in Action” day of artist demonstrations, plus the first annual PorchFest; Holly Days events: Boutique during House Tours, Medieval Banqet, a 2-day April Art Show, a Poetry Fest of events in April, a May Gala; Fall, Winter, Spring, and school vacation workshops and classes; an ongoing Starfish Trail program; SandwichFest 2017, and a Summer Arts Series.

In Honor is a moving, immersive theater experience that celebrates the lives, stories, and enduring spirit of those who have served our country, along with the families and communities who stand beside them.

We are most grateful to the outstanding production team at Grief Dialogues for choosing to bring this moving performance event to Sandwich just before Veterans’ Day in support of our local community - SAA President Kathy Aubin.Jessica Cooper is a Boston-based violist who is a member of the Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra, principal violist of the Lowell Chamber Orchestra, and co-founder of Spectacle Collective, a classical music based multidisciplinary performance arts nonprofit. Jess also teaches viola and violin lessons in the Shrewsbury Public Schools. She spent many summers on the Cape, at her grandmother’s home in Truro.

The 10th Annual SAA PorchFest in coming to town!
* A FREE event Saturday, Sept. 19 from 1-4 pm in Sandwich Village
* 12 Porches and 24 performances by local artist
* Americana, folk, singer-songwriter, rock, classical, jazz and traditional Irish music.
* Maps are available now at www.sandwichartsalliance.org, at the SAA Center-130, Main Street, and at all porches the day of the event. Plenty of parking everywhere.

WHAT'S NEW AT SANDWICH ARTS ALLIANCE?
1. The SAA Center & Gallery is reopening on Tuesday, August 4th after closing temporarily for the installation of the new windows on the 1st floor of Sandwich Historic Town Hall.
2. The highly anticipated 6th Annual June Kershaw Open Juried Exhibit featuring the works of 57 talented regional artists on display August 4th through mid' September. See all 57 works of art now at https://www.sandwichartsalliance.org/2026-june-kershaw-accepted-work.html
3. Awards Reception: All are invited to attend the Exhibit Opening and Awards Reception at the SAA Center & Gallery on Thursday, August 13th, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

We're located on the 1st floor of Sandwich Historic Town Hall, 130 Main Street, and beginning August 4th, the Center will be open Tuesdays-Saturdays, 11am-4pm.

SAA HYDRANGEA FEST GARDEN TOUR #4
The fourth of four tours takes place Friday, July 19, 10-4

- An 11-acre property in East Sandwich presents a thoughtful reimagining of a 300-year-old farming tradition, blending active enjoyment with a deep commitment to ecological stewardship.Through a process of rewilding, Bernice and Joe Wahler have replaced mown lawns and non-native pastures with a vibrant meadowscape that serves as both a vital pollinator habitat and a protective buffer for a natural spring and wetland system. The property harmonizes natural beauty with the daily rhythms of a productive organic farm and greenhouse managed by resident farmer Shane Chambers.
- Visitors will experience an inspired manifesto for land use, where native plants and dense wildlife corridors prove that cultural heritage and the humming complexity of a living ecosystem can coexist beautifully.
