Kiwanis Club of Sandwich MA Our club is involved in many community service projects that serve children. Kiwanis Club of Sandwich was founded on March 23,1978.

Founded on March 28, 1978, the Kiwanis Club of Sandwich is part of Kiwanis International, volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one community and one child at a time. The club began with just 15 members and has grown to its current membership of 22. Over the years, the club has held many fundraisers, including pancake breakfasts, spaghetti feeds, bike rides, golf tournaments, poker tourname

nt, printing a town map and other events. We help out in the community in a variety of ways, including sponsoring community service focused youth groups, highway clean-ups, raising money to benefit children and children's support groups, and providing scholarships. The club has enjoyed a rich history over the years, with its members coming from fields like accounting, civil service, education, management, dentistry and many more. Over the last seven years the club has donated in excess of $550,000 to the community and Cape Cod charities. The club has a 501(c)(3) designation so that any and all donations made to the club are fully deductible according to IRS regulations. A group of our intrepid Kiwanians installed the Christmas Angels this week at Kiwanis Park at the corner of 130 and 6A. Right now one of them is lit, but the other one needs to be rewired, and that will happen very soon. So enjoy the one, while we wait for the new lights to arrive!

These two lights shine brightly in memory of Maggie Smilley and Jeff Hayes, two teenage residents who died in 2007, long before their time, and it is our honor to keep them shining in their memory.

We hope that you enjoy them as you enter Sandwich. They are such a beautiful symbol of the holiday season.

Brainstorming session! Mashpee, Sandwich, Hyannis, Lower Cape, and Plymouth all represented! We planned our First Membership Drive. Monday, December 8th, 5:30pm at Naukabout in Mashpee. Our community project will be collecting items for "Homeless Care Bags" we will be collecting items such as hats & gloves, feet & handwarmers, socks..

We discussed a signature project to plan, design and raise funds through grants and fundraising a "Therapeutic Playground" for a local camp for severly sick children and their families.

Lastly we discussed the possibility opening a new club in the Yarmouth/Dennis area and a membership drive for the lower Cape.

You can tell by this picture we all love what we do!

We ask if you are interested in learning more about Kiwanis that you join one of these clubs for a meeting and hear more of what they do!!
