🛑 Please help prevent unnecessary emergencies by postponing burning until conditions improve.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe.

Good morning, there is an increasing concern for dangerous fire weather conditions Saturday. Drier air behind a cold front, combined with gusty winds and dry conditions, will create favorable conditions for wildfires.

Tomorrow, members of the Sandersville Volunteer Fire Department are traveling to Texas to continue to expand their training to better serve our community.

Chief Austin Reeves, Assistant Chief Zach Foster, EMR Captain Summer Foster, and Firefighter Nicole Kimberlin are traveling to College Station, TX to attend the ExxonMobil-sponsored HazMat Liquid & CO₂ Pipeline and Industrial Fire Emergencies course at the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).

This hands-on course focuses on:

🔥 Industrial and large-scale fire response
🛢 Liquid & CO₂ pipeline emergencies
☣ Advanced hazardous materials incidents

We’re grateful to ExxonMobil for sponsoring this opportunity and investing in first responders.

Training like this helps ensure Sandersville VFD is prepared for complex emergencies and ready to protect our community.

Stay tuned for photos and updates from Texas! 🚒🔥
