NEJ Ag Students Begin Incubation Project
As part of their study of poultry, NEJ Agriculture students have begun incubating 153 eggs of a variety of breeds. Mrs. Hope Brownlee, NEJ FFA Alumni member and Ag supporter, gathered egg donations from Mr. Perry Baygents and Mr. Thomas Norris delivered them to NEJ Ag Instructor Mr. Thomas Hall. She also donated a number of eggs. Hall directed students in marking the eggs with the breed and placing them in the Ag departments incubator. Students placed eggs of 24 Brown Leghorns, 23 Black Austalorps, 12 Rhode Island Reds, 12 Cinnamon Queens, 12 White Leghorns, 12 White Plymouth Rocks, and 58 Barnyard Mix in the incubator. They will now be responsible for turning the eggs and maintaining the incubator until hatching takes place. Hall and the entire NEJ Ag Department would like to thank Mr. Baygents, Mr. Norris, and Mrs. Brownlee for their donations and for their unselfish support of tomorrows agriculturists!
