The Memorial got spruced up a bit today ahead of Patriot Day.
Flowers watered, weeds pulled out of the rocks (2 bags full!), edged.
Found a resilient little watermelon vine - and left it!
(Yes, the lawn needs some rain - and maybe re-seeding. One project at a time!)

We had a Hot time in the Old Town this afternoon! The Sanborn American Legion and Auxiliary represented in Wanda's 125th celebration parade. Congratulations Wanda! Here's to the next 125!

And the Winner is...... Jackie Schenk with Dashing Through the Snow! 2nd is Blaine Roiger with Helping Grandpa, followed closely by Cleve Simonson with Rudolph's Ride.
It was very clear that the horse-drawn sleigh or wagon rides were by far the favorite part of Memories of a Hometown Christmas past.

Photo books will be available during this year's Memories of a Hometown Christmas. Also included in the photo books will be updates on our Legion and Auxiliary activities and local veterans, what's new in Sanborn, notable passings, and historical information on Memories of a Hometown Christmas and the Avalon/Rope & Spur. Before becoming America’s beloved chef, Julia served her country in WWII with the OSS — even helping develop shark repellent! Her service and passion left a lasting legacy both in the kitchen and beyond.
