💰 Building Financial Confidence Starts Early!

Money skills are life skills—and Peninsula Family Service is helping young people build them early.

Our Youth Financial Workshops give teens ages 13–20 practical tools to navigate adulthood with confidence, from managing money and building credit to preparing for emergencies, reducing financial stress, and making responsible financial decisions.

Through this six-week program, young people gain the knowledge and confidence they need to take control of their financial futures. Because when young people have the right tools, they can build stronger, more secure futures. 💙

🎉 A Great Start to the Great First Eight! 🎉

Today, Leo J. Ryan Preschool launched our Great First Eight Curriculum with a busy and fun-filled day of learning and discovery! 💛

In Room 2, children explored their classroom centers during Community Gathering and took a tour to become familiar with their new learning spaces. They discovered patterns during Math Marvels and practiced recognizing the letters in their names during Word Wonders. ✨

Learning continued through play as children pretended to be construction workers in the Imagination Station and worked together to complete puzzles in the Puzzles & Games center. 🧩👷

We’re excited to see all the learning, creativity, and growth that the Great First Eight will bring this year! 🌟 To learn more about our EL programs: https://ow.ly/CeO350ZFhFa

It was wonderful to see everyone dressed up, showing off their moves, and enjoying time together. Thank you to everyone who helped make this groovy celebration such a success! 🕺🌟

Here’s to keeping the good times—and the music—going! 🪩❤️

Investing in the Next Generation of Skilled Workers

As California faces growing demand for skilled trade professionals, PFS and the are partnering to create new career pathways for local youth.

Through Youth Pathways to Workforce, high school seniors will earn up to 5 industry certifications, build career skills, and connect with registered apprenticeship opportunities.

“The skilled trades offer incredible opportunities, and too many students don't even realize those opportunities exist. Introducing them to the trades while they're still in high school gives them time to explore their options, ask questions, and discover a future they may never have considered.”
— Julie Lind, Executive Officer, San Mateo County Central Labor Council

📊 Unlock the Power of Data to Accelerate Your Impact!

We’re proud to see our CEO Heather Cleary joining Sustainable San Mateo County as a guest speaker for an upcoming webinar focused on using data to create greater impact in our communities.

The newly expanded Sustainability Dashboard features more than 100 environmental, economic, and equity metrics, along with city-level reports and neighborhood-level census tract comparisons. These tools can help nonprofits, advocates, and community leaders better understand local needs and use data to inform strategic planning, grant writing, advocacy, and service delivery.

Heather will share how data and community insights can help strengthen the work of Peninsula Family Service and better serve the individuals and families in our community. 💛

Join Heather and fellow guest speaker Amelia Stonkus of Rise South City for this free and insightful webinar!

📅 Register today and discover how data can help accelerate your impact.

💛 Celebrating Our Amazing Students! 🎉

Last week, we had the joy of celebrating our incredible students and all they’ve accomplished!

When our venue became unexpectedly unavailable at the last minute, the Bayshore Public Library stepped up to support our students and families. We are incredibly grateful for their kindness, flexibility, and commitment to our community. 📚💛

A huge thank you to our Midway staff and parents who helped make this special celebration possible. Your teamwork and dedication made the day one to remember! 🌟

Here’s to celebrating our students, our families, and the amazing community that supports them! 🎓✨
