Meet Sonora, our Volunteer Engagement Coordinator!
Sonora brings three years of dedication to BACC, and a background perfectly suited for the role. Before joining us, she served as a volunteer coordinator at the Aerospace Museum of California and worked as an Admissions & Financial Aid specialist at UC Berkeley's International House.
As the backbone of our volunteer department, Sonora works to understand each volunteer's unique skills and match them where they'll have the greatest impact, whether that's supporting community engagement, development, or beyond. As a one-woman team, she coordinates schedules and works directly with staff to make sure every volunteer shift runs smoothly.
A Sacramento State alum with a degree in Asian Studies, Sonora once had her sights set on conducting global business in Beijing. While COVID shifted those plans, she keeps her Mandarin sharp through friends and online pen pals.
We're so grateful to have her on the team!
