🚨 IT’S OFFICIAL — REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! 🚨

Families United is excited to launch our YOUTH LEADERSHIP ACADEMY for high school students in grades 9–12! 🎓🔑

This is NOT your typical Saturday program.

We’re giving students access to the people, places, careers and experiences that can completely change how they see their future.

Because think about it…

Your student may be a future attorney, entrepreneur, nurse, elected official, chef, engineer, first responder, business owner or CEO — and they may not even know it yet.

Sometimes they simply haven’t been EXPOSED to what’s possible.

They haven’t met the person doing the job.
They haven’t walked into the building.
They haven’t sat at the table.
They haven’t had someone say, “You belong in this room too.”

🔑 That’s what this Academy is about.

Students will experience:

✨ Career exploration & hands-on exposure
🤝🏽 Mentorship
🏛️ Field trips & behind-the-scenes experiences
đź’Ľ Leadership, professionalism & communication
📝 Resumes, mock interviews & career preparation
đź’° Financial literacy & real-world life skills
🎓 College, trade & career pathways
❤️ Community service & civic engagement
♿ Disability awareness & inclusion
📸 Professional development opportunities

And when they graduate? They’ll leave with more than a certificate.

They’ll have a professional portfolio filled with skills, experiences, accomplishments and connections that many students don’t have access to before graduation. 💼🎓

đź“… One Saturday per month + occasional after-school field trips.

Because talent is everywhere — OPPORTUNITY and EXPOSURE are not.

🔑 OPPORTUNITY BEGINS WITH EXPOSURE.

📣 NOW RECRUITING GRADES 9–12!

Tag a parent, educator, counselor, coach or high school student who needs to see this!

Yesterday was all about community. đź’™

Families United was honored to be part of National Night Out at McDonald Park in Tracy, hosted by Community Partnership for Families and Southside Organization.

Because of the generosity of our supporters and partners, we were able to distribute 275 backpacks and 300 pencil cases filled with school supplies to help local students start the school year ready to learn and succeed.

There is nothing better than seeing the excitement on a child’s face and the relief on a parent’s. That’s what community is all about—neighbors showing up for neighbors.

A huge thank you to Community Partnership for Families and Southside Organization for bringing our community together and inviting us to be part of such a wonderful evening. We are grateful to everyone who stopped by our booth, connected with our team, and learned more about the resources Families United provides.

Here’s to a successful school year for every student! 📚🎒❤️

🎒✨ Let’s Fill Backpacks & Build Brighter Futures! ✨📚

School is almost here, and we’re on a mission to make sure every child starts the year feeling confident, prepared, and excited to learn!

Families United is collecting new backpacks and school supplies for local students across Alameda County and San Joaquin County—and we need your help!

Whether you donate one pack of pencils or 100 backpacks, every gift helps a child walk into school ready to shine. 🌟

đź“… Donations accepted through August 15!

đź’™ Want to make an even bigger impact?
We’re looking for businesses, churches, clubs, community groups, and individuals to sponsor backpacks or host a collection drive. Gather your coworkers, neighbors, family, or friends and help us fill as many backpacks as possible!

Every backpack tells a child:

Today, we celebrate the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, and father figures who do more than show up—they stand up.

The dads who attend IEP & IPP meetings, ask the hard questions, and refuse to give up when their child needs support.

The fathers who drive to therapy appointments, sit through evaluations, learn unfamiliar systems, and become fierce advocates for their children.

The dads who work long hours and still make it to school events. The grandfathers who step in when needed. The mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, and stability.

At Families United, we see you.

We see the fathers who are navigating developmental disabilities, educational systems, medical appointments, and life’s challenges right alongside their children. Your advocacy matters. Your presence matters. Your voice matters.

Thank you for every meeting attended, every form completed, every appointment kept, every difficult conversation had, and every moment spent fighting for your child’s future.

You are helping build stronger families, stronger communities, and brighter futures.

Happy Father’s Day to the dads who lead with love, advocate with courage, and never stop showing up.

💙 Together We Can. 🧡
