Inner Wheel Club of San Leandro proudly announces its 2026 SLSH Scholarship Recipient-Isabella Tang. Gloria Vasconcellos & Pearl Johnston attended SLHS Senior Scholarship Night. Gloria’s presentation was among 62 local presenters giving out over thousands of dollars’ worth of scholarships. By taking advantage of any 4-year renewable awards, the seniors’ efforts will top $1.7 million. The top 10% of students’ GPAs ranged from 4.57-4.03. Pretty impressive!

She plays on a club volleyball team. Isabella plans on attending UC Santa Barbara majoring in Biological Sciences. IW Club of SL is so proud of Isabella and all her wonderful accomplishments. Inner Wheel Club of SL - Honored & Grateful! 🌹

A wonderful gathering of local philanthropic groups gathered at the Rotary Club of San Leandro as recipients of very generous grants. Inner Wheel Club of San Leandro is so honored to be one of the eleven awarded.
Our grant is to provide the San Leandro Police Department with Comfort Teddy Bears. This will provide a wonderful opportunity to help children who experience or witness a crime and are often left frightened, confused, and emotionally overwhelmed. We will be organizing and delivering new, high quality, child safe, and durable teddy bears individually packaged in reusable bags. Comfort Teddy Bears can provide police officers with immediate tangible items to offer reassurance, reduce anxiety, and help affected children in our community begin to feel safe during traumatic events. Additionally, we know that this is a wonderful opportunity to expand outreach efforts and promote a positive image of first responders.
A special thank you to Rotary for helping Inner Wheel change lives in our community. We are deeply appreciative of our partnership & your belief in our mission. Together we are creating a lasting impact- where every act of generosity brings comfort, hope, and strengthens the spirit of community. 🌹

🌹Celebration! Today Inner Wheel Club of San Leandro finalized our SARRT-Sexual Assault Response & Recovery Team philanthropic annual project with a pick-up of 23 boxes destined for Highland Hospital's R**e Crisis Center. A few weeks ago, six boxes were also delivered to Children's Hospital Center for Child Protection Services. A dedicated group of Inner Wheelers packed boxes filled with journals, sweats, socks, undergarments, blankets, drawstring bags, hygiene items, and gift cards prior to the deliveries. Many thanks to Gloria Vasconcellos, Kristi & Sherrie Barnes, Barbara Mehan, Pearl Johnston and several IW members for their many hours of hard work and dedication to this annual project. Inner Wheel Club of San Leandro is getting ready to deliver our 2025-26 charitable donations to SAART Sexual Assault Response & Recovery Team at Highland Hospital and to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. Each year via a very generous grant our club is able to supply a variety of support items to benefit the needs of survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence & human trafficking at Highland Hospital-sweats, socks, undergarments, chargers, hygiene items, fruit snacks, and gift cards. In support of patients at Children's Hospital, we are donating comfort items- sweats, socks, journals/notebooks, backpacks and blankets.
This IW Club of SL yearly project was directed by Gloria Vasconcellos, Barbara Mehan, Kristi & Sherrie Barnes, and Pearl Johnston.
The joy of giving comes from the simple act of sharing kindness, where every act of generosity brings comfort, hope, and connection to those who need it most, and strengthens the spirt of our entire community. Kindness in giving creates a world of love and joy!🌹

🌹Inner Wheel’s motto of EMPOWERING STRENGTH, INSPIRING INDEPENDENCE was certainly exemplified at our Founder's Day Luncheon. We had the privilege of hearing Jamie Duby share her amazing story of her son Shine's incredible life journey. Shine was born with genetic mutations, Popliteal Pterygium Syndrome and ectodermal dysplasia. At eight years old he is now a joyful resilient child who loves superheroes and lots of movement. Inner Wheel USA Foundation and Camp No Limits has honorably helped to support this beautiful child and family.
Inner Wheel Club of Niles-Fremont hosted this District 517's annual event at the Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon, CA. A delicious luncheon was served and enjoyed by members and friends from six Inner Wheel clubs.
Inner Wheel Club of San Leandro's member Virginia Gibbs was the lucky winner of IW Club of Livermore's gift basket-"Livermore Valley Treasures". Janet Gambateste of the Los Gatos Morning Rotary Club was the lucky winner of our basket- "You Give me Butterflies".
Thank you, IW Club of Niles-Fremont, for your wonderful event and your forever dedication to creating a world of love and joy!
