Our third anniversary just got even better! We’ll have a unique w**e on tap with a nominal and familar connection to electronic music: **eco. I met Haley Smith many years ago when I had an industry dinner with her parents and some musicians, back when I was working with Livid Instruments. Haley’s dad Dave Smith founded Sequential Circuits (a company housed in San Jose for a time), helped invent MIDI, and gave birth to a technological shift, merging analog sound with digital control. I recently found out about her w**e-making, and knew this had to come full circle. So come enjoy some Analog W**e, learn about her process, and pair it with some analog (and digital) sounds and help Column make another fun trip around the sun!

We started Column becuase Bob had a space, liked the idea, and we wanted a place for live electronic music in our own downtown. It’s now been three years, and our gradual carving out has brought a wonderful community into full relief! Come join us on September 16 as we celebrate our three years with a variety of microsets from some of the people who have really made this special! Note that this month’s gathering is on the third Wednesday instead our usual second!

equilet is the electronic music project of J.Lubow.

equilet’s output blurs lines between texture, design, and rhythm. He has released work on Silva Electronics, Nebleena, Important Jogger, and Irrational Media. He has performed alongside Mark Fell, L’usine, Cylob, Aleksi Perälä, Jan Jelinek, Rene Hell, and Richard Devine.

His music sits at the intersection of experimental dance grit and conceptual art, reflecting a practice that is as much about ideas and systems as it is about sound.

From the depth of San Jose’s Gameshop Downstairs, two basement dwellers emit waves of sonic intensity inspired by the mountains of technology and media surrounding them
Strength through collaboration
Self improvement through live performance
Insanity through maximalism
QT + MM are hardcore hardware heads who make techno by any means, and think you should too!

Woven is Charles Johnson, electronic musician and, tonight, DJ. With a sharp eye for detail, Woven’s sets navigate a techno landscape that is not driven by genre, but by environment and taste.
