Open Gallery Alley Open art gallery in alleyways - turning spaces to better community assets

Fountain Alley lies in the heart of the historic district of downtown San Jose, California. Surrounded by light rail stations, restaurants, nightlife, homes, and downtown's most iconic building - the Bank of America tower, the foundations of a great place are all present. However, the alleyway is currently underutilized, plagued with poor public perception, drug use, and other antisocial behavior.

The objective of Open Gallery Alley is to turn Fountain Alley to a greater community asset through a pop-up gallery showcasing local artists. Through art, activation, and community collaboration, we can bring a new life to this neglected, but cherished place.
