Binational Health Week kicked off with a day of health, culture, and community at Eastridge Shopping Center on October 3.

Santa Clara Family Health Plan (SCFHP) joined local organizations and community members for free health screenings, wellness resources, live entertainment, and activities for the whole family. Our team was there to connect with attendees and share information about SCFHP programs and services.

Dr. Ria Paul, SCFHP Chief Medical Officer, was among the speakers, and she highlighted the importance of the community working together to advance health and well-being for all.

Thank you to Community Builders Unidos for bringing the community together to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of Binational Health Week and help connect families with health resources.

¡Viva la Cultura! brought health, culture, and community together at the Santa Clara Family Health Plan (SCFHP) Blanca Alvarado Community Resource Center (CRC) on September 26. The Hispanic Heritage Month celebration welcomed East San José families for a day of free health services, community resources, music, dance, and activities.

Local partners joined SCFHP to connect attendees with helpful programs and services. The celebration also kept everyone moving! Guests enjoyed Zumba, Baile Folklórico, music from Mariachi Tapatio, and performances by Mestizaje Cultural Ensemble/Zona Cheo. Their performances explored Latin rhythms and their African influences and showcased Colombian folklore through music, dance, and audience participation.

Thank you to our community partners, performers, staff, and everyone who joined us for a day celebrating Hispanic and Latino cultures while connecting our community with resources for better health and wellness.

Remember to renew your Medi-Cal coverage on time to help you keep your benefits.

Watch your mailbox for a renewal packet from Santa Clara County. If you get a yellow envelope in the mail, don’t wait! Fill out the packet and return it to the county to avoid losing your coverage.

In some cases, not renewing your Medi-Cal on time can lead to a change in your coverage if you re-enroll late.
