For nearly two years, the California Faculty Association (CFA) has been bargaining with CSU Management for raises that keep up with inflation, reasonable workloads, real job security, academic freedom protections, and meaningful AI guardrails and COL adjustment.

In response, CSU management has offered faculty a paltry one-time “bonus,” refused to bargain on CFA’s major proposals, and they are even threatening our health benefits.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. FAIR CONTRACT NOW. STRIKE READY.

On Monday, October 26, CFA launched a Strike Authorization Vote. Every CFA Member gets a say in whether our Board of Directors can call a strike. Voting runs through Thursday, Nov. 19th.

Three quick ways to vote:

Rent. Child care. Gas. Utilities. California's cost of living has us all spooked. But CSU management's paltry wage proposals and threats to health benefits? They're downright terrifying.

This Wednesday, October 28, from 11:30 am to 1 pm, join your colleagues from 5 CSU unions for our STRIKE READY LABOR UNITY RALLY on CSUSB's Pfau Library Lawn.

At this Halloween-themed event, we'll show our strength in numbers, raise awareness about issues facing us and our students, and let Chancellor García know we're prepared to strike for the contract we need.

Bring at least two colleagues, and invite your students, too. Because CSU faculty and staff working conditions are student learning conditions!

What: Strike Ready Labor Unity Rally

Hey CSU faculty, staff, and students: Want to fund the classroom and not the boardroom? Then we need to fight for 53!

The CSU used to spend 53% of its budget on instruction. Today it's just 34%.

Why? Over the past three decades, CSU administrators slashed investment in instruction and poured money into bloated and wasteful administrative structures. Meanwhile they're hiking tuition 34% over 5 years.

So taxpayers and students pay more to pad the pockets of CSU administrators, consultants, cops, and building developers while faculty and staff salaris stagnate, class sizes soar, and course sections and lecturer faculty get the axe, making it harder for you to graduate on time.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Sign the petition in our CFA-San Bernardino IG bio calling on the California legislature to require that the CSU spend at least 53% of its budget on instruction -- like it used to in the the 1990s.

Then share the petition with your colleagues, students, and state legislators.
