Mission of โ€œ In The Spirit Of
Christmasโ€
The mission of this program has
been to provide a great experience to children whose family may be less fortunate
during the holiday season. Referrals by social service advocates of
San Angelo Independent School district and personal reference do all the
screening for eligible candidates. We have had positive response from our media, former city officials, volunteers,
business and other stakeholders in our endeavors as we seek out quality toys accompanied by a meal provided free to the entire family. Our anticipated event has proven to be fruitful and rewarding. We will always strive to make the time with these families of the utmost quality, fun and memorable. As you know it takes a village to raise one child.

๐Ÿ™ As our children get ready for another school year, Lord, please place Your protection over each and every one of them. ๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿ“šโค๏ธ

Protect them as they walk through those school doors, guide them throughout their days, and bring them home safely.

And Lord, please be especially close to the children who may not have the newest clothes, the nicest shoes, or all the things that others may have. Remind them that what they wear does not determine their worth. ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

Teach our children to be kind, not to judge, and to look out for one another. May no child feel embarrassed, left out, or less than anyone else.

God be with every child, every teacher, every parent, and every school this year. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ“šโœ๏ธโค๏ธ

๐Ÿ™ Please continue to keep everyone affected by last yearโ€™s devastating floods at Camp Mรญstic in your prayers.

Even to this day, one little girl and two men are still missing. My prayers are with their families and loved ones as they continue to carry this unimaginable burden. I also pray that they may be found so their families can finally have some peace and closure.

May God continue to watch over everyone impacted by this tragedy. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™

As America marks its 250th birthday this July 4, there will be no celebration here at Camp Mystic.

Instead, only silence.

One year after the devastating flood along the Guadalupe River, this memorial stands across from the cabins where campers and counselors lost their lives. The flowers, stuffed animals, handwritten notes, and green ribbons speak to a loss that still feels fresh for families, survivors, first responders, and this entire community.

The Weather Channel is in Hunt and Kerrville, Texas, commemorating the one-year anniversary of the tragedy, remembering those who were lost, and telling the stories of a community that continues to heal.

Michelle McGuire woke up to the sound of water inside her Kerr County, Texas home. Before she could process what was happening, her bed and nightstand were floating.

She climbed back onto the bed. The water kept rising. It pulled her off and swept her out through the kitchen toward the back door. She was floating in the dark floodwaters of the Guadalupe River as it consumed everything around her.

She watched her truck float past. Then other cars.

She grabbed a tree and held on. The water kept rising around her. She began to pray.

"God, I'm not ready for you. You're not ready for me. I don't want for my mom to have to bury me. I have a lot of people here left to help."

She held on until the water receded enough for her to survive.

The July 4, 2025 flash floods in the Texas Hill Country killed at least 130 people and left more than 170 missing. The Guadalupe River rose without warning in the middle of the night, sweeping through homes, camps, and cabins with devastating speed. Twenty-seven people died at Camp Mystic alone, including children as young as eight years old.

Michelle lost her home. She lost her truck. She lost everything she could see and touch.

What she did not lose was her faith.

"Keep your faith. That's the only thing that kept me going when I thought I was going to drown. Keep praying because I know that's the only reason I'm here."

Please share this and keep every family still grieving the Texas Hill Country floods in your prayers tonight. The water is gone. The heartbreak is not.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Still Searching for Cecilia โ€œCileโ€ Steward ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Some names are never forgotten, and some families are never left to search alone.

Eight-year-old Cecilia โ€œCileโ€ Steward remains missing after the devastating floods at Camp Mystic. While so many families have faced unimaginable heartbreak, Cileโ€™s loved ones continue to hold onto hope and continue searching for the little girl whose smile, laughter, and presence are deeply missed.

To Cileโ€™s family: please know that people across the world are still thinking of you, praying for you, and standing beside you. We see your strength, we see your determination, and we will not stop remembering Cile.

Until she is found, her name will continue to be spoken. Her story will continue to be shared. She is not forgotten, and she is not alone.

Keep searching. Keep hoping. Keep bringing Cile home. ๐Ÿค
