Now THAT is a whole lot of love stitched together! ❤️🧵🪡

Our Director of Development and Marketing, Suzanna Valenzuela, had the pleasure of spending the evening with the talented ladies of Hanging By a Thread at the Shriners Building!

Suzanna shared the story of Meals For The Elderly, the neighbors we serve, and how our community helps make it all possible.

And just look at these quilts! 😍 So many beautiful colors, patterns, and hours of work! These generous ladies donated quilts and other handcrafted items to support our mission.

Every quilt tells a story, and every stitch represents someone’s time, talent, and heart. ❤️👵🏼

Love to quilt? Or interested in learning? Hanging By a Thread meets monthly at the Shriners Building. What a wonderful opportunity to connect with others who share a love for creating!

💕 Sunday Gratitude: A Community That Cares

Sometimes showing up for others is the most meaningful thing we can do.

This week, our Meals For The Elderly team joined others across our community in wearing pink to show love and support for our neighbors at Wall ISD as they mourn the heartbreaking loss of one of their elementary students.

Our hearts and prayers remain with the family, friends, students, and staff during this difficult time.

Today, we’re especially grateful to be part of a community that comes together, lifts one another up, and reminds us that no one has to face difficult days alone.

Different schools. Different organizations. One community. One heart. 💗

May God continue to surround everyone affected with His love, peace, and comfort. 🙏🏼

This is what heart and service looks like! ❤️👵🏼

Today, we’re giving a BIG shoutout to our Meals For The Elderly Board of Directors!

Behind every meal delivered, every mile driven, and every senior served is a group of people who believe in our mission and give their time, talents, and hearts to help make it happen.

Our board members don’t just lend their names to our organization. They show up, roll up their sleeves, and help us continue serving our neighbors with dignity and care.

Thursday is looking pretty good from where we stand!

We love seeing members of our community walk through our doors!

Every visit, every conversation, and every connection is another opportunity to share what Meals For The Elderly is all about.

With over 700 active recipients and 56 delivery routes, it takes a whole lot of helping hands and caring hearts to keep those meals rolling!

And here’s the beautiful part…there’s always room for one more person who wants to make a difference. ❤️👵🏼

This is what “I’ve got a route today” looks like.

Bag in hand. Route sheet ready. And someone in our community is about to get more than lunch.

Every weekday, volunteers walk through our doors, pick up meals, and head out across our community to check on our homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Sometimes it’s a familiar face. Sometimes it’s a brand-new volunteer. But every delivery says the same thing:

You matter. You’re remembered. And someone showed up for you today. ❤️👵🏼

With more than 700 active recipients and 56 routes, those simple deliveries add up to something pretty incredible.

There’s something pretty great about seeing volunteers walk through our doors ready to go.

They grab their meals, load up the car and head out to make someone’s day a little brighter. And somewhere along the way, they usually discover that delivering a route makes their day a little brighter too. ❤️👵🏼

With more than 700 active recipients and 56 routes, we ALWAYS have room for one more difference maker!

Once a week. Once a month. Whenever you can. It all counts.
