HAPPENING TOMORROW! All Veterans/community are invited to come to the Walla Walla Veterans Stand Down tomorrow - Oct. 2. It runs from 2-6 p.m. at the Walla Walla Community College, Bldg. D (500 Tausick Way). Come check all the great community and VA resources that will be available - all in one place! And flu shots will be available for eligible/enrolled Veterans. See you tomorrow!

BENEFITS OF BEING AN OREGON RESIDENT & VETERAN.

We spend a LOT of time talking about federal VA benefits.

But here's the thing:
Oregon has veteran benefits too

And some of them are pretty damn good.

Property tax exemptions.
🏕️ Free state park camping for qualifying disabled Veterans.
🎣 Free hunting + fishing licenses for qualifying disabled Veterans.
🎓 Education grants.
🫡 Oregon National Guard tuition assistance.
💼 Veterans' preference for public jobs.
🏠 An entire Oregon Veteran Home Loan Program.

And that's not even all of it.

Some of these benefits have eligibility requirements that are WAY different than you'd probably assume.

Any level of service-connected disability for the Oregon State Parks Special Access Pass?

Yep.

25% for the qualifying disabled Veteran hunting/fishing license?

Yep.

Up to $10,000 through the Veterans Educational Bridge Grant for qualifying Veterans?

Also YES!
