Thank you to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum for helping make the Boat Parade such a memorable finale to St. Michaels' celebration of our town's, county's, and nation's 250th anniversaries. From start (with our concert in Muskrat Park featuring the USNA's Electric Brigade) to finish, the weekend showcased the pride, patriotism, and community spirit that make our town so special.
A special shout-out goes to Bob Vitale, one of the organizers of the Boat Parade, whose dedication helped bring this event to life. We're also grateful for his wife, Janice, who is not only the talented baker behind so many of the treats enjoyed at SMCC meals and events, but also one of our volunteer superstars.
Thank you to everyone who participated, cheered from the shoreline, decorated their boats, and helped celebrate our shared history and bright future. What a fantastic day to honor our flag, our community, and the Chesapeake traditions that bring us together!
A big thank you to the St. Michaels Boat Parade Committee for donating proceeds from the sale of the St. Michaels 250th Anniversary burgees to both CBMM and the St. Michaels Community Center.
The Flag Day Celebration was a fantastic way to kick off the summer season, bringing our community together along the waterfront for a day full of pride, fun, and connection.
We're grateful to Robert Vitale and the committee for their generosity and for helping make this special community event possible!
