We congratulate Chanhassen carrier Chris Bleth on his retirement today!! Chris had nearly 36 years of service in. He's got plans for a very successful and active retirement which I was happy to hear about.

We have photos of Chris addressing the station and sharing some of his wisdom, Chris and union steward Suman Roy, Chris with his gold watch and EVP Chris Pennock, and the carriers whose routes he serviced as a utility. It's a good looking group!

Branch 9 will be hosting a new employee meeting on Thursday the 5th to go over the basics of being a letter carrier. St Paul carriers are also welcome. We'll get the grill fired up as well and have burgers for folks. Hope to see you there!

🚨 ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. PROTECT OUR LETTER CARRIERS! 🚨
Every day, letter carriers step onto our streets to deliver for our communities. Yet, violent assaults against letter carriers are escalating at an alarming rate across the country.
The horrifying recent attack on a letter carrier in Detroit, Michigan—where a dedicated worker was violently assaulted and shot on the job—is a tragic and glaring reminder of the extreme dangers our union brothers and sisters face daily.
No worker should ever have to risk their life just to do their job.
📢 WHAT IS THE PROTECT OUR LETTER CARRIERS ACT?
The bipartisan Protect Our Letter Carriers Act (H.R. 7629 / S. 3948) provides critical measures to end this crisis:
🔒 Upgrades infrastructure by funding high-security collection boxes and replacing outdated physical universal keys with electronic access.

⚖️ Strengthens legal protections by toughening sentencing guidelines for assaults on letter carriers, treating them with the same severity as law enforcement assaults.

🏛️ Ensures prosecution by appointing dedicated assistant U.S. attorneys in every judicial district to prioritize postal crime investigations.

Election year doorknocking opportunities for labor endorsed candidates on the north end of town. It's fun. And you can do it in teams. Free coffee, too.

Minneapolis, MN Branch 9 celebrates 11 year-old Dash and his epic new Star Wars-themed wheelchair costume. The letter carriers of NALC are proud to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the oppurtunities it creates for kids like Dash to dream big, express themselves and experience a little magic.

We ended the 2026 MSALC state convention breaking the previous record for the MDA auction for the pumpkin. Last year we raised $2,040.00. This year we raised $3,150.00 for the pumpkin. Jim Yates now holds the bragging rights for most money raised as the national officer for the convention.

Teresa Ness retired from St Louis Park this past Friday. Many happy returns on the day Teresa! She retired with twenty eight years of service. Congratulations Teresa!
