Sextortion is a type of blackmail. A perpetrator will obtain an inappropriate sexual image or video from a child victim through deceit, coercion, or some other method – and then demand additional imagery or money; threatening to expose the child’s images to their friends, family or public if they do not comply.

What would you do if someone asked you to send a picture? Think you might say no? But what if you sent it - thinking that someone would never share it. But once you've sent it...it's out of your hands what happens with it. Maybe they send it to a friend, who sends it to a couple friends, and well, you get the idea...it spreads. Who will see it? General donations to Voices of Courage provide…
A safe place for a child to tell what happened. The child will meet with one of our Forensic Interviewers who are trained to reduce that child’s trauma by safely gathering information needed for the investigators.
Support – every family experiencing trauma needs someone to guide them through ‘what happens next’. Our Advocate provides that listening ear, help with referrals to needed services, and support throughout the process.
Therapy for the child provided by our Mental Health Professionals. There is no cost to the family for this much needed service.
Prevention Programming – children and adults should know what abuse is, learn the signs and how to react and respond. We can help with that.
