When you have the opportunity to share what you do with youth, you give them a sense of how it feels each day to help people heal from unkind thoughts.

Today at St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce's My Success event we shared with area high school students the relief that comes from "Shred it and Forget it". This bag of shredding is from today 8am to 2pm. We get to do it again tomorrow!

4 Years of Jessica at the Y!

We've got another Y-versary to celebrate!

Jessica is celebrating 4 years with the YWCA St. Joseph as one of our amazing Shelter Advocates!

Being a Shelter Advocate means being there for people when they need it most, and over the past four years, Jessica has been an important part of making our shelter a welcoming and supportive space for those who come through our doors.

Four years brings a lot of different days, a lot of different faces, and plenty of memories along the way, and we are glad Jessica has been part of our YWCA St. Joseph team through it all!

Help us give Jessica a BIG Happy 4-year Y-versary!

We had some wonderful ladies from Alpha Sigma Alpha at Missouri Western State University volunteering at the YWCA shelter today!

These ladies rolled up their sleeves, sorted Halloween costumes, and gave our employee storage area some much-needed TLC!

Cleaning and organizing isn't always the most exciting job, but these ladies jumped right in with smiles and helping hands!

And to one special volunteer, we're so glad you found a new friend! We can't wait to hear what you decide to name him!

Thank you, ladies, for spending part of your day with us! You made a big difference, and we appreciate you more than you know!

Join us for these upcoming FREE community events!

🫂 YWCA St. Joseph will be joining other community agencies for Project Connect on October 14th at the Salvation Army.

🤼 On October 31st, we will cap off Domestic Violence Awareness Month at TAKE Defense, a self-defense training class in partnership with Kiwanis Club of St. Joseph, MO and the Ali Kemp foundation.
