👉 “I’m Gonna See a Victory.” 👈
We sang those words in church on Sunday. But what happens when the victory doesn’t come?
What happens when we’ve prayed fervently, trusted God, and pleaded with him to change our circumstances—but nothing changes?
🥺Sometimes the hardest part of a trial isn’t simply the suffering. It’s wondering why God seems silent.🥺
But perhaps we need to reconsider what we mean by “victory.”
👋God is not obligated to fulfill the expectations created by a contemporary Christian song—or even by our own understanding of what victory should look like.👋
Scripture reminds us:
“My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.” — Isaiah 55:8
❓What if God’s definition of victory is different from ours?❓
❌We may define victory as the trial ending.
✅God may define victory as our faith growing.
❌We may want God to change our circumstances.
✅God may be using those circumstances to change us.
❌We may ask, “When will this suffering finally be over?”
✅God may be asking, “What am I accomplishing in you through it?”
That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t pray for deliverance. Scripture invites us to do exactly that.
🤔But we also need to remember that God’s glory—not our comfort—is the ultimate purpose behind everything he does.🤔
So if you’re in a trial today and wondering where your victory is, pause and ask:
Am I looking for the victory God has promised—or the victory I have defined?
🔥God will absolutely see the victory.🔥
The question is whether we will recognize it.
Sometimes seeing the victory requires putting on our “Holy Spirit Spectacles™️” and learning to see our circumstances through God’s purposes rather than our own.
Your trial may not end today.
But God is not doing nothing.
