Yesterday, the ALA Unit 238 put on a Gold Star Dinner. Several of the 'Old Guard' members with seniority in the Unit put it together, and it was a blast from the past! Appetizers, a full plate of yummy meatballs, b**r cheese and pretzels, and stuffed mushrooms. Main course, Pot Roast, piles of mashed potatoes, drenched in a savory brown gravy, carrots, and a dinner roll. Wow! Heaping portions! Desert, Apple crisp, vanilla ice cream.
The meal was home cooking, nothing from a box. There were a lot of take home boxes, because there was so much!
Special thanks to Kathleen, Amanda, Janet, Dee, Kelly. if I missed anyone, apologies. Now that was the ultimate Happy Meal!
