As the summer winds down just wanted to reflect on the work done fixing up the American Legion Post 109 Rutherford, NJ.
If you haven’t been here in a while, you might not recognize us. We wanted to be the focal point and I think we are on our way.
What you see in the pictures is phase 1. Part of the beautification project was done in conjunction with Troop 166 scout Calder Allshouse and his Eagle project. Assisting him with that was a great friend to the post and the borough, Tommy DiMeola of DiMeola Masonry. Other parts were the acts of encouragement from our incredible community. Without your assistance none of this could have even been started.
When I look at pictures from last year and compare them to these, I sit back and think just how lucky I am to be commander here.

Some of you may know, for the past three years I’ve been building and cultivating a wildflower garden by our flagpole. It’s finally starting to look like something.
There’s plenty of fresh spearmint if you want some!
