Southern A'Chord Chorus

It's that time of year again: Butter Braid time! Southern A'Chord is selling the always amazing Butter Braid bread AND a new item this year - Rada cutlery. As usual, the bread will be personally delivered, but here's good news for supporters outside the Ruston area --> the cutlery will be shipped. So whether you live in North Louisiana or Kalamazoo, you can participate in this fundraiser. Find a chorus member you know through this link, or contact a member personally: https://store.myfundraisingplace.com/8084fc2e-fa36-4968-ae9c-acbc32187c7f

The bread comes frozen; you just let it thaw and rise, then bake. We have multiple flavors from sweet to savory. Deliveries will be made before Thanksgiving, just in time for the holidays. Regarding the Rada cutlery, these knives are terrific and last for years. Definitely worth the money. As always, thank you for your support!

At our rehearsal this week, we had a joyful welcome-back sing-in as Rebecca McNeill returned to full membership after several years as an associate member. In case you haven't heard, she is now DR. McNeill, after having received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University–Oklahoma College of Optometry. We are so proud of her and so glad she has returned to our midst! At each member's sing-in, we sing the song "Consider Yourself," so please, Rebecca: "Consider yourself at home; consider yourself one of the family. We've taken to you so strong; it's clear we're going to get along!"

Proof that singers come in all breeds.

In the video, two huskies are "singing" together in the dining room. After just a bit, one turns around to the other, and his body language and vocals seem aimed at correcting his partner. The text overlay says: The look you get when your duet partner hits the wrong note.

"Once you've sung in a choir, or played in a band or orchestra, or played in any music ensemble, you're never the same again. Your ears, your eyes, and your heart are opened up in ways not possible by any other means. Music feeds us, it nourishes us, and it brings us great joy" - Vaughan Fleischfresser.

At last night's rehearsal, we celebrated a homecoming: Rebecca McNeill, who has been away at med school for four years, returned to us as a newly minted doctor of optometry! We are so proud of her and also so glad that she has joined us again! Here with her in an after-rehearsal shot are some of the chorus members she shared sisterhood with earlier: Kesha Jean Batiste, Sallie Rose Hollis, (Rebecca), Judy Sisson, Michelle Jones and Lynette Murphy.
