Russiaville Lions Club is CLOSED for elections from today (4/27) through May 6th (early voting will be held 4/29-5/3 and Election Day voting on 5/5).

Our building will be available again for events starting May 7th! Here are a few of our alternate locations during this time:

Monday Morning Community Coffee: 5/4, 9-10am at Main Street Christian Church (Fellowship Hall)

Friday Morning Exercise Class: 5/1, 9-10am Jeff Stout Community Center

Monday evening Lions Club Meeting: 5/4 7-8pm Russiaville United Methodist Church

Thank you Russiaville Lions and Community Friends for all working together to finish the SR-26 highway cleanup last Friday. Altogether we cleaned both sides of 2 ¼ miles of roadway from mile markers 70 to 72, disposed of 25 bags of trash, and found a couple items for INDOT to remove. Most importantly, the event was safely completed. Great job!

We should all be thankful to the Russiaville Police Department for keeping us safe by monitoring the traffic, FIRE PIZZA for the ice cream break as we were getting done (delivered by Carl of the RPD), and Lions Leo and Reba for supporting the pickers.

Another wonderful Gene Parks Day in Russiaville on April 11! It started with a very tasty pancake breakfast provided by the scouts of Troop 619 at the Lions Clubhouse. This was followed by the 5K run with participation by Ainsley's Angels in Indiana, and a 1 Mile Fun Run (or walk). Then came the "Let's Fly a Kite" time. Professor Steve gave the kids a very interactive talk on aeronautics, which was followed by kite building, decorating and flying. Members of the Hoosier Kitefliers Society were there with their big kites as well (p.s they have a some great pictures!).

Thank you Kokomo-Howard County Public Library, and especially our Russiaville Public Library staff for organizing this day, and thank you Lions and Community for staffing the events.

Everyone Welcome!

Everyone is welcome to join the Russiaville Lions Club tomorrow, Monday April 20th, at 7pm and listen to Eddie Clem from the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library talk about the genealogy department and what they have to offer. It should be a very interesting and informative talk. Here is Eddie's bio from the website.
Eddie Clem: Director of Genealogy & Local History Services
I began as the Director of Genealogy & Local History Services in 2025. I first came to KHCPL in 2010 and completed my graduate internship in the Collection Management Department. Prior to coming to KHCPL, I worked for ProQuest, a library technology and database provider, and was previously the Head of Technical Services at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. From 2013-2015, I was the cataloging librarian here at KHCPL. I've enjoyed the varied library experiences that I've had and continually learning how to provide the best library service to our patrons!

The Russiaville Lions Club took part in the 2026 Russiaville Baseball Parade yesterday. It was a little rainy, but LOTS of fun was had by all! Proud to be a Lion. Around to be part of the Russiaville Community!!!

Many thanks to the wonderful Palmer Lions Club of Palmer Alaska! You are so active serving in the community! And, you were so kind to Lions Darlene and Rick of the Russiaville Lions Club when they visited you and gave you a Russiaville Lions Friendship Banner. Shown are President Dan and VP Jane in their Palmer Lions vests.

Palmer is a beautiful and historic town located in the Mat-Su Valley of South Central Alaska, known for its farming history, giant cabbages, and the Alaska State Fair!

Gene Parks Day is TODAY! Look at all the things to do in Russiaville, like fly a kite!

The races support Ainsley's Angels and the Carl Koontz Memorial Scholarship for a Western graduate.

We hope that you are coming to the Russiaville Lions Club this Saturday for Gene Parks Day. In addition to the 5K and 1 Mile runs benefitting Ainsley's Angels and the Carl Koontz Memorial Scholarship, there is also the Troop 619 pancake breakfast and a food drive hosted by Cub Scout Pack 3511, Russiaville Indiana !

So when you come in to eat some pancakes, register for the race(s), or cheer on a runner, please bring in some non-perishable food for the Russiaville Food Pantry.

And then stay for the kite festival hosted by the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library Russiaville branch! It's over at the Jeff Stout Community Center.
