We love our partnership with Narrow Gate Horse Ranch and KACC Vet science students so we can bring an amazing lesson to the kids at Bon Air Elementary. Petunia and Cocoa taught the kids that you can be a great leader when you’re KIND!

We love being a job shadow site for KACC vet science students. And we love sharing our animals with others. 🐐🫏🐴🐓🪿🦆🐰🦚🐑

Cocoa loved going in to the high school (especially the air conditioning). She would’ve stayed all day!

Since some of you are dying to know what the new animal is….here it is (or should I say they)!!!

A breeding pair of Jacob sheep! 🐑

Even though I would love a water buffalo or a baby rhino or an alpaca they wouldn’t fit to ride in the back seat of the truck (and yes the truck smells a bit funky).

Jacob sheep are a heritage breed of sheep with possible origins back to before Christ. But first officially recorded in England in 17th century. They can have two, four or even six horns (polycerate).

✝️Check out Genesis 30:31-43 to see where these unique sheep get their name from.

Hint #2 for our new animal…..can you guess what this is?

The kids at Kinsey Youth Center learned a powerful lesson today with the help of Admiral.

Let's imagine this horse is a stallion. A stallion can be powerful. He can be strong, independent, determined, and full of instincts.

If you train him, does he stop being a stallion? No!!
Training doesn't erase who he is. It doesn't take away his strength or personality. It teaches him what to do with those things.

Training Doesn't Erase Strength. It Teaches the Horse How to Use It.

You have strength. You have personality. You have abilities. You have a story. Some of the choices you've made may have gotten you to where you are now, but they don't have to determine where you go next. Learning self-control doesn't make you less of who you are. It gives you the ability to decide what you do with who you are.

There is a spiritual lesson here. Following Jesus doesn't mean that God wants to erase our personality, our gifts, or the person He created us to be. He isn't asking us to stop being who we are. He is asking us to surrender control to Him.

A trained horse is still a horse.

Likewise, surrendering to God does not mean becoming someone else. It means allowing God to direct what we do with the person He created us to be.

💜 Walk to End Alzheimer’s — Join Our Team! 💜

Alzheimer’s affects so many in our community. My dad suffered from dementia before he passed away in 2019.

I’m walking in memory of my dad, Bob Duchateau, and I would love for you to join me! 🥰

This year, Cheyenne and Petunia—Bob’s girls—will be walking too! 🐴💜🐴They’ll be there to help us honor his memory and raise awareness for a great cause.

You can help in two ways:
👟 Join our team and walk with us!
💜 Donate to help us reach our fundraising goal!

Support ARK Miniature Therapy Horses in the fight to end Alzheimer's. Donate today to help them reach their goal.

I just realized that I never posted about my sweet Petunia having to go to Purdue Vet Hospital. She went last week after showing signs of colic. It was an impaction colic which was cleared with lots of fluid and laxatives. We are really thinking it’s because all of our minis are on a dry lot and sometimes (really all the time) try to pick up every single morsel of food off the ground. Possibly some dirt got built up. We’re going to start doing Sandclear once a year on the herd to clear that up. She stayed three days and we were so glad to have her home. Petunia is The ARK. She will always be my best girl (shhhh don’t tell the other minis). Thank you for all of your prayers for her and I (this one about broke me iykyk).
