What a week it has been for Logan County 4-H! We are so proud of all the 4-H’ers who represented our county and showcased the skills, time, and dedication they have put into their projects.

Throughout the first week of the Kentucky State Fair, Logan County had projects on display in Cloverville including photography, foods, art, sewing, needlework, wood, entomology, horticulture, home environment, and crops! 🌱📸🎨

We were also proud to have 28 Logan County 4-H’ers competing in the Country Ham Contest! With 1,050 youth participants from across Kentucky, the competition was strong, and our Logan County 4-H’ers represented us incredibly well!

🏆 Country Ham Speech Results:
• Oliver Gripshover - 3rd place in his division• Miles Sayne - 3rd place in his division AND 3rd Overall!

We are also proud of our State Teen Council member, Mason Davenport, who represented Logan County by serving at the Kentucky 4-H Foundation Breakfast. What a great opportunity to be involved and represent our county! 🍀

The Kentucky State Fair is a long-standing tradition and such a special part of Kentucky 4-H. It provides youth with opportunities to showcase their skills, gain confidence, learn from others, and experience new things - all while making memories that will last a lifetime.

To every Logan County 4-H’er who participated, we are so proud of you! Your hard work, dedication, and willingness to step outside your comfort zone truly showed! 💚

4-H Clubs Are Starting Back Up in August & September! 🍀

It’s time to get involved, make new friends, learn new skills, and have some fun with 4-H! We’re excited to kick off another year of 4-H clubs, and we have opportunities for everyone!

Clean & Green Club
Do you enjoy nature, animals, the outdoors, or finding ways to take care of our world? Clean & Green is a conservation-focused 4-H club where members learn about the environment through hands-on activities, projects, and fun experiences. 🌎

Cloverbud Club
Have a little one who is ready to be a 4-Her? Cloverbuds are our 5–8-year-old future 4-H members! This club introduces younger kids to 4-H through age-appropriate activities, crafts, games, learning experiences, and plenty of fun.

4-H clubs are a great way for youth to try new things, discover interests, build confidence, develop life skills, and be part of something bigger.

Whether you’re brand new to 4-H or have been involved for years, there’s a place for you! 🍀

Keep an eye out on our page for more club kick-off meetings coming soon!

It has been an incredible Country Ham Project season!

Our final project meeting wrapped up this week as our 4-H'ers selected the country ham they will take to the Kentucky State Fair and gave it its final preparation for the trip.

Over the past three project sessions, these youth have learned about the tradition and science behind country hams, proper curing and aging practices, and selecting a quality ham. They've gained valuable knowledge, built confidence, and made great memories along the way!

Now it's time for the next big step! On August 20, our 4-H'ers will head to the Kentucky State Fair to present their Country Ham Speeches and showcase all of their hard work!
