PSA. This should go without saying, but after today I feel as though some people need to be reminded. If you see emergency lights and hear sirens behind you, be them red or blue, please move to the side of the road WHEN IT IS SAFE TO DO SO. We are not running lights because “we have to”. Actually, most emergency calls don’t warrant the use of lights and sirens at all. When an emergency vehicle is using their emergency lights, it is because time is crucial. Those extra 5-10 minutes it will take them to get to their location because you couldn’t take the time to let them pass by could mean life or death for the individual they are going to assist.

Introducing 50-07! This SUV will be the primary response vehicle for medical calls. This will free up our utility truck 50-05 for more fire related calls. Special thanks to Autotronix for the fantastic job done on the lights and wrap. They do quality work and we would recommend them to any department needing a vehicle outfitted.

I want to apologize for the lack of first responder coverage this past week. We unfortunately lost our medical director, Dr. Staggers. We are in the process of securing a new director and will hopefully be back to helping the community in full by this coming week. The change to a new director will be a transition period that will more than likely bring about some changes so please bear with us. Also, please keep in mind that we are volunteer only service. All of our providers work full time jobs so coverage may not always be available.
