Dixfield Elementary School and Team Long run were honored to host the legendary Rosemary Wells, who generously donated her time for a day of literacy!
Thanks to our partners, Principal Charlie Swan and Team Long Run, we delivered 330 high-quality books to students—creating a "starting line" of opportunity for every child in the River Valley.

This ArtVan session with Western Foothill Regional Program students was a beautiful masterclass in collaboration!

Participants worked on shared rolls of paper, moving between stations to express themselves and—more importantly—to connect. What started as individual efforts blossomed into a collaborative masterpiece when students combined their creations!

Friends of the River Valley is proud to fund this program, fostering self-care and community through the power of art!

Friends of the River Valley wants to recognize our secretary extraordinaire, Cheryl Dickson!

A lifelong resident of the River Valley with years of commitment to the Chamber of Commerce, Cheryl brings her passion for improving the lives of our citizens, her deep local knowledge, and her incredible capabilities to our organization. Cheryl says:

“Friends of the River Valley is a wonderful organization to be a part of.
The Mission Statement says it all about who we are and what we want for the River Valley. Seeing the kids smiling faces at the events that Friends of the River Valley sponsors, knowing that I played a part of it is why I got involved with this organization. “

We are so lucky to have her as a dedicated board member! Thank you for everything you do, Cheryl! 💙

Friends of the River Valley is committed to the youth of the River Valley.

Our president, Darby Beliveau states:

“Our many youth programs counter destructive aloneness and negative social media by supporting in-person socialization, building self-confidence, and fostering realistic future dreams. To get students out of "emotional cubbyholes," we create and support outdoor activities and provide scholarships for golfing, softball/hardball, touch/tackle football, skiing, snowboarding, trail walking, and outdoor/overnight adventures.”
