This is a framed photograph that was recently donated by Stephen and Carolyn Chambers left in their home by former owners Archie and Della Clark. This is a very long shot, but does anyone recognize the family or any of the individuals?

Miniature Dow Village Restored

This beautiful miniature village that resides in the backyard of the museum has suffered some damage by a vandal in the summer of 2024 and was also in need of new paint and roof shingles.
Thanks to the volunteers from the Olin Dow family relations, Dannie Darling and his sister Teresa Darling Scott, the buildings have been given a new lease on life. Jeff Dow and JR Dow donated bundles of cedar shake shingles for the project.
This tiny village was moved to the museum from the pond on Exeter Road in 2008 and painted and repaired by Gareth and Beverly Blackwell in 2009.
Olin β€œRoy” Dow built the village beginning about 1965 and taking about 20 years. He dug the pond in his yard and placed the miniature buildings around the pond which had been a fixture on
Exeter Road. The original village also included a windmill and water wheel, which are no longer part of the remaining buildings. We do have a church, a store, a hotel, two small houses and a covered bridge and a duck house.
Roy and his wife Wilda (Pratt) Dow were married in 1917 and raised 5 children, Richard, Adelbert, Lilla, Olin Jr. and Edna. Many of the descendants of Roy and Wilda still live in Corinth. They were married for 68 years before Wilda died in 1985. Roy died in 1991 and both are buried at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth.
We thank the great grandchildren of Olin Dow for taking on this task of repairing this quaint village to help it continue into the future.
