Something as simple as a safe, comfortable bed gives a child more than a place to sleep. It gives them comfort, dignity, and a space that feels like their own.

Every time we deliver a bed, we are reminded that this work is about more than furniture. It is about hope, stability, and showing kids that they matter.

Some of the biggest impact at Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes from people who simply decide to keep showing up.

Not just once. Month after month.

That’s what the Bunkhead Club is all about.

Recurring support helps us keep lumber moving, keep bedding stocked, keep chapters building, and keep saying yes when another child needs a bed. You don’t have to build every bed yourself to help make sure the next one gets built.

Sometimes consistency is the contribution, and that consistency changes lives.

A bed build is about more than lumber and tools. It’s neighbors choosing to show up for kids they may never meet.

That’s what I keep coming back to after Bunks Across America: the volunteers, chapter leaders, donors, and partners who turn a simple idea into a place for a child to sleep.

To everyone who gave their time, resources, or encouragement—thank you. You’re helping us move closer to the day when no kid sleeps on the floor in our town.

I wanted to follow up and share a little more about our local Sleep in Heavenly Peace chapter.

We build and deliver beds to children who do not have one of their own. We have grown quite a bit since forming the Round Rock Chapter two years ago and have been blessed with many volunteers and a good amount of funding.

What we need most right now is ongoing help connecting with the community and finding the families who need us.

Some of the best ways to help are:
- Share information about us through social media and community
meetings
- Connect us with schools, counselors, churches, and agencies
serving families in need
- Help us coordinate and grow volunteer involvement
- Connect us with someone interested in serving as a delivery
coordinator, delivery lead, or volunteer coordinator

Events are always helpful, but ongoing relationships with people who can help us reach families and engage volunteers would make an even bigger difference.

We have built and delivered over 300 beds since we started in Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander, North Austin and Pflugerville. Any ideas, introductions, or connections you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

From Sept. 5–12, our 8th annual Bunks Across America brought communities together like never before:

🙌 17,761 volunteers
⏱️ 63,710 volunteer hours
📍 232 SHP chapters
🏠 82 Lowe's stores and 41 builds with Lowe's PROviders
