House of Raeford Farms FLOCK

House of Raeford Farms FLOCK We help those who are called to do good, do more. FLOCK gives both money and products.

House of Raeford Farms FLOCK began in 2008 when House of Raeford CEO Bob Johnson began thinking about all the good that could be done by utilizing company resources. The company had already developed a tradition of generous giving, but Bob sought to streamline and focus those gifts. His vision resulted in the formation of FLOCK, a nonprofit outreach program designed to help meet the needs in commu

nities where House of Raeford Farms has operations. FLOCK is an acronym, standing for Faithful Love Offering for Christ’s Kingdom, and the House of Raeford family has taken it to heart, offering their time and talents to the mission of FLOCK. House of Raeford employees and local citizens give their time by walking in fundraisers, organizing food drives, donating blood, collecting and distributing fans to seniors in homes without air conditioning, packing meals for hungry children around the world, and much more. Through the generosity of House of Raeford, hundreds of thousands of pounds of product have been donated to food pantries and feeding programs. Millions of dollars have gone to support hunger relief, youth development, addiction recovery, and other efforts that include after-school mentoring programs for inner city youth; snack supplies for impoverished children in local schools; music scholarships for gifted young people in need; and encouragement and practical assistance for battered women striving to regain their independence. Local FLOCK teams are providing services in Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Our ARCADIA FLOCK brought the FLOCK FOAM MACHINE to Camp Royal. The camp counselors had a fun time testing it out before the campers joined in the fun. Camp Royal is a great week for foster kids to enjoy a fun vacation week where they are blessed and celebrated. Our FLOCK team loves to help make the week special.

We are so excited that Miracle Hill Ministries is inviting us all to join them in their Summer of Purpose Challenge. We started off with thinking of ways that we could do #4: Come Alongside a Foster Family. Our Greenville FLOCK honored foster families Miracle Hill Ministries with our FLOCK CARES AWARD (check out yesterday’s post) and our Arcadia FLOCK is going to be showering foster kids in Bienville Parish with birthday gifts, blankets, bags and the FLOCK FOAM MACHINE for a fun day at Camp Royal. Let us know your ideas for blessing foster families!

FLOCK CARES CELEBRATES THE LOVING SACRIFICE OF FOSTER PARENTS: For over a decade, FLOCK has partnered with Miracle Hill Ministries in Greenville, South Carolina. This passionate organization operates rescue missions, addiction recovery programs, transitional housing, a food ministry, and they serve displaced children and foster families through their foster home community and residential foster care programs.

“This month, FLOCK Cares — an outreach initiative recognizing individuals serving in the community who often go unnoticed — honored a group of foster parents who faithfully serve Miracle Hill’s Foster Care Community,” said Curtis Carr, House of Raeford’s Corporate Director of Community Outreach. “These six families have sacrificially committed themselves to loving and caring for children who need a safe home, and we wanted to take a moment to recognize and thank them for the important work they do.”

As part of the celebration, FLOCK hosted a special dinner on the grounds and presented each foster family with a gift basket, a devotional, and a generous gift card. In addition, House of Raeford will donate chicken to this group of families to assist with their meal preparation needs.

The foster parents honored include:

Johnny and Theresa Dye, who not only foster children but have adopted four and are pursuing kinship/guardianship of two more.
Mark and Kelly Gillespie, who have adopted four children and are currently fostering a sibling group of four.
Nathan and Jamie King, who are fostering three young people.
Paul and Terry Gillespie, who care for five children in their family home on the Miracle Hill campus.
Caleb and Kathryn Durham, who nurture two teenagers and a baby.
Becki Davis, a single foster mom who has provided hope and stability to a young girl for nearly three years.
