With great thanks for our partnership with Romeo United Methodist Church, we are getting ready to build shelving in the basement that will greatly improve our sorting and storing process for clothing and shoes. As new donations come in, clothes need to be sorted by size and season before we can fill shelves and racks in the shop. Shelves with larger storage bins will streamline our whole process and maximize time with our awesome volunteers.

We have a fundraising goal of $1,300 to accomplish this project. We continue to be so grateful for our Romeo community and the surrounding area. All of the clothing donations that have poured in since we opened in the summer of 2024 have impacted so many families already. 🎉 A huge thank you to Romeo Community Schools & Romeo Middle School for their committment to helping students engage with Non-Profits in the community.

We’re thrilled to share that we now have 7th graders coming weekly to the shop to learn about what we do and the why behind this project.

It’s only our third week in, and these students are engaged, curious, respectful and such a tremendous help to our organization! We’ve already heard such great conversation happening during our time together - can’t wait to continue this amazing opportunity to give RMS students a chance to support families right here in our community. What a great way to kick off 2026 at Romeo Open Handed!!

If you have any gently used children's winter gear that you are no longer in need of - we would love to get those out to families in need in our area!

We will be collecting winter coats, snow pants, boots, gloves and hats for kids ranging from infant up through teen sizes on Friday October 3rd from 4-7pm. (Please no other clothing donations on this date).

Romeo Open Handed is located within Romeo United Methodist Church, parking and main entrance on the back side of the building.

We were able to support many families last fall and are looking forward to passing these items out on Friday October 10th - we continue to be so grateful for the support of this community!

It’s starting to look more like spring in our shop thanks to the help of local volunteers & and a group from Helping Hearts Ministry. We are always SO thankful for the help!

We had the BEST time talking with 6th-8th graders at Romeo Middle School this morning at the first ever RMS Non-Profit Exploration Fair. To hear the engaging questions and thoughtful remarks from these young students along with the heart of the district for providing students with opportunities to partner with groups to make their community thrive - couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of this community! ❤️
