We take our mission pretty seriously. Ourselves, not so much!
But helping families grow stronger and happier makes us pretty happy, too.

Quick reminder that good things are happening right here in our community. 😃

We interrupt this gorgeous fall day to invite our community to Adopt a Family this holiday season and help make Christmas a little brighter for a local family.

Here’s how it works:
•Sponsors agree to provide gifts or monetary means for us to shop for family
•If you shop, we provide a wish list from the family with the requested number of children in the family (ex: 2 children, 3 children, etc)
•If you want us to shop, send us a check designated for the family and the family’s Parent Aide will take the parent shopping prior to December 15
•We ask for gifts to be delivered to our office no later than December 15
•Wrapping is not necessary, but if sponsors would like to provide wrapping paper and tape, the parents enjoy this and it allows parent to see what the children are receiving
•Sponsor receives age/sex/race of the family members but no identifying information for privacy reasons
•Sponsor receives name/number of parent aide in case they have questions when shopping
•Gift cards are allowed
•Parents are asked not to list expensive items on the wish lists (ex: computers, laptops, game systems)

Can you help this year? Send us a DM or email [email protected] to sign up or get more information! 🎁

Please join us in welcoming FRC intern Marcela Buscato!
Marcela brings a strong background in health journalism and healthcare communications, where she has spent years helping people understand health information. As she transitions into a new role in community health, she’ll be putting that experience to work in some exciting ways as an intern at the Family Resource Center.
Over the next 4 weeks, one of Marcela’s primary focuses will be health education and outreach for Spanish-speaking families. She’ll help us develop accessible educational materials, support outreach efforts, and connect families with information and resources in ways that feel useful, relevant, and easy to navigate.
She also brings a special interest in food and nutrition education. As a mom of two boys, a cooking enthusiast, and a student of nutrition coaching, Marcela is passionate about helping children and families develop healthy, positive relationships with food—while keeping meals joyful, practical, and connected to family and community.
We’re excited to have Marcela bringing her experience, perspective, and enthusiasm to FRC, and we look forward to all she’ll contribute during her time with us.

Sharing resources with families is kind of our thing. Sometimes, that’s a resource specifically designed to support a family. And sometimes, it’s a resource that everyone can use.
Making the grocery money stretch a little further while getting occasional texts with easy meal ideas? Yes, please!
Save this post for your next meal planning session, share it with a friend who might appreciate a few fresh ideas, and sign up for Lantern to put some dinnertime ideas in your back pocket.
More useful resources. Less figuring it all out alone. That’s what we’re all about.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we recently had a large collection of blankets and bedding on hand. After providing our current families with what they need, we reached out to megtreg, who collects bedding items throughout the year to help families in a neighboring county. She was thrilled to put these donations to good use, and we were thrilled to make the connection.

Your generosity gives us resources to work with, and our community relationships help us make sure those resources keep moving where they can do the most good. 💙
