We were honored to participate in the Irondequoit and Rochester Memorial Day parades with our Vets Driving Vets vehicles.

Memorial Day is a time to remember those who gave their lives in service to our country, and we were especially moved by a kind gesture from one of our own staff members.

When a Gold Star mother from Farmington had no way of getting to the Rochester parade, our Youth and Family Engagement Specialist, Stefan, stepped in and picked her up so she could take part in the day.

It was a simple but meaningful act of service, and one that reflects the care our team brings to this work every day. We’re grateful she was able to be there to honor her loved one’s sacrifice on such an important day.

This week, Rochester welcomed home its first all-female Honor Flight — a historic mission honoring 59 women veterans for their service, sacrifice and dedication. 👏👏

We’re especially proud that our own Liz Medina, Program Coordinator for CompeerCORPS, was among the veterans on this meaningful flight!

Waiting to welcome her home were fellow Compeer staff members and veterans, Tracy LoTemple, Director of Programs, and Gio Gutierrez, CompeerCORPS Outreach and Events Specialist.

We are honored to be part of a community of veterans who continue to show the power of service, connection and support — both during and after military service.

Congratulations to Liz and to all of the women veterans of Honor Flight Rochester Mission 95 — and thank you for your service! 🇺🇸

Always showing up for our Vets, and having fun while we’re at it! Stefan, our youth and family engagement specialist, was up bright and early on a 6am fishing charter on Sodus Bay this past weekend with one of our Vets and his son. Looks like they had a great time!
