Stand with girls! End child marriage! Encourage education for all!

The United Nations International Day of the Girl, focusses attention on entrenched inequality that exists for many girls around the world, and advocates for change.
This year the theme is Stand with Girls, with a specific focus on ending child marriage, and ensuring education equality opportunities for girls.

Zonta International has General Consultative status with the UN, and Zonta Clubs in Australia including ours, therefore stand with them in advocating for change and supporting projects.

Today, on United Nations' International Day of the Girl, we celebrate the potential of girls everywhere, and reaffirm our commitment to a world where every girl can learn, thrive and shape her own future. 🩵

Every girl deserves to grow up safe, supported and empowered, with the freedom to make decisions about her own life.

At Zonta, we know that investing in girls today helps build a more equal world tomorrow.

Today was a fun day of exploring Seneca Falls with our sister clubs The Zonta Club of Cheektowaga - Lancaster, NY, USA & the Zonta Club of Geneva
Seneca Falls is the site for the 1st Women's Rights Convention, the Womens Rights National Historical Park & the National Women's Hall of Fame. We had a wonderful Park Ranger tell the story that led to the 1st convention. At the Hall we had another wonderful docent tell us about the move to the historical Mill location. We are so fortunate to live so close to where it all began for Women's rights with such amazing trailblazing women!
A great day with our Zonta sisters!!

Today we walked in the Penfield Independence Day Parade. Lots of spectators were happy & friendly. Some showed their appreciation for our mission & how we help the community. We are always looking to build our membership with volunteers interested in Zonta's goals. Today was FUN!
