What an incredible evening at our 2nd Annual Rocking for a Cause Fundraiser!

Thank you to everyone who attended (including members from The Zonta Club of Cheektowaga - Lancaster, NY, USA and Zonta Cross Border Canada - USA ), sponsored, donated, volunteered, and helped to make Friday night such a success. Because of this amazing community, we are able to continue supporting and empowering women and girls throughout Rochester and beyond.

From the music and laughter to the generosity in the room, the night was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people come together for a meaningful cause.

The Zonta Club of Rochester held our first in-person meeting of 2026 last evening, with an excellent turnout that included several guest attendees and the welcoming of a new club member!

We were honored to hear from guest speakers Anne C**n and Chandra McKenzie as they presented She, Unsung. It is a powerful project bringing attention to Rochester-connected women whose stories have too often gone untold.

The presentation deeply reflected Zonta’s mission to uplift the stories of women in our community. By sharing these stories, we can work together to continue building a better world for women and girls.

🌎 In honor of International Earth Day, the Zonta Club of Rochester encourages you to take a moment today to reflect on the impact that climate change has on women and girls around the world.

During climate-related disasters, women are more likely to be displaced, lose their jobs, become injured or killed.

Historical and structural gender inequalities are the reasons why girls and women experience climate change drastically different than boys and men. These inequalities affect the extent to which girls and women can lead, make decisions, take action, and advance solutions to combat climate change.

As a result of climate change and disasters, women are also less able to rebuild their lives due to the widening gender gaps in education, pay, legal rights, leadership, and societal responses to climate change.
