Meet Xena! Xena is an estimated 9-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer with a beautiful chocolate coat and an adorable gray face that shows just how gracefully she's aging! Xena is a very sweet girl who loves people and gets along well with other dogs. She enjoys going for a nice walk, but she's just as happy curling up on the couch for some quality snuggle time. This lovable boy came to us from an area impound after his time was up, and now he's ready to find a family who will give him all the love and attention he deserves. Benjamin absolutely loves people and is happiest when he's getting attention and affection. Meet Guy! Guy is a 3-year-old Pit Bull with the biggest, squishiest head and an even bigger heart! At nearly 80 pounds, this lovable guy is definitely a big boy, but he's very friendly and just loves being around people. Guy could use a little work on his leash manners, but he's eager to please and has so much love to give. He's the kind of dog who will happily be your big, goofy best friend. *Looking for a hospice home*

Elvis came to us after the family who found him as a stray could no longer care for him. He had a mass larger than a softball on his head, and horribly infected skin, and ears. Despite all of this, Elvis is a very sweet boy who likes to talk and go for walks. He is a picky eater but can easily be bribed with attention-he loves to give hugs. After Elvis arrived at PCHS, we began addressing his medical needs. His ears and skin were treated and then, we had the growing mass on his head addressed. Elvis was able to have surgery to debunk the mass but unfortunately, it was not possible to get clean margins given the location and size of the mass. Pathology came back showing that Elvis has Grade 3 Mast Cell cancer. Nothing more can be done for the tumor, so our sweet boy is looking for a hospice home. Thankfully, he is the happiest boy and is feeling great.. Our goal is to find a family who will help him live his best life for as long as he has left. Check out Harrison our Standard Poodle! Harrison arrived here from impound severely emaciated about 5 weeks ago, and at that point was in very bad shape with other medical issues. Our vet estimated him then to be around 8 years old and he went on a refeeding plan. Well he saw our vet again recently and look at him now, he’s only 4 years old, estimated of course.😉

Bo has been having a rough go of it, getting shuffled around and was recently returned again due to no fault of his own. His story with us began back in March 2023. Now he’s back at the main shelter again, still looking for that elusive forever home. Ready to give it another go…

Meet Bo!

Bo was originally an owner surrender in 2023 to the Rochester Animal Control when his owner fell on hard times. He was surrendered with his brother "Roe-Shi" and his sister "Mika". The three of them get along well but are dog selective with other dogs. Bo also thinks cats look a little too much like bunnies and he should not go to a home with cats.

Bo is not necessarily bonded to Mika or Roe-Shi, so he could be adopted alone, or with one or both of his siblings! He has been around children and does very well with them! He also loves to play with his ball and toys! He is sure to be a fun addition to his new home.

Are you looking for a buddy to go for car rides with? Bo's your guy! He loves going for rides and does great in the car!

Meet Theo, one of our latest rescues from impound. His histories unknown and we’re just getting to know him,  but all systems are going so far. This is Judy & Sarita, 2 Frenchies rescued from breeding. Initially very sad/scared and confused, wanting to escape for the first three or four days, but they’re coming around and today we let them stretch it out on our quarantine deck. they’re now available on our website..www.pawsandclaws.org
